Hey everyone, so this is my first Hetalia story and to tell you the truth I am a bit nervous about it. Now I'm knew to all these human names so please forgive me for any naming errors that will likely appear throughout the story, I'll try my best . References are from Gingersnaps and Underworld which I enjoy both concepts. So I hope it read okay ….

Oh and I should also mention that the story will probably get darker and bloodier along the way, so you have been warned. On with the story…

The human mind is capable of many things, more than we know, but what really separates the human mind from the animal's? What really makes a human different to the beast he once was?

A well known scientist, by the name of Joseph Brooks, had studied the human mind and body for many years, looking deep into the nature of man's truest desires. Now Joseph Brooks was an honest man, and great at what he did. He was serious about his work, and let nothing distract from his studies, however….

A deadly obsession corrupted him, leaving his mind set on one objective: To discover the meaning to being human…and destroying it.

In the end, Joseph Brooks left behind his paid job to set out on his goal and make it come true. In doing this he moved to the country where he build an underground laboratory, as he would need one, and acquired many others to assist him for this experiment.

For many sleepless nights and days, Joseph searched, located, and experimented on people who were compatible. As you should know, for this experiment to succeed Joseph needed a man that carried a certain gene that was passed down through bloodline, and had been through many failed attempts when he had not known this.

One night, however, he came across a man by the name of John Kirkland. He found that through John's blood the virus that he needed to inject into the patient's body would be accepted and therefore the results positive.

Unfortunately, John Kirkland failed to live through the changes that were thrust upon him, but Joseph now knew what he had to do. For a long time, Joseph seeked all of John's relatives and descendents and any other Kirkland's he could get his hands on. Sadly, though none of them made it and only one Kirkland was left.

Joseph knew this was his last chance to get it right and nothing would prevent him from getting his hands on the named subject, Arthur Kirkland.

This is where the story begins, and how it will probably end, too. For the nature of man's curiosity of things will never cease, and destructive consequences will be made because of it.
