Author's Note: I got this idea from watching 'Rise Of The Guardians', great film that one; anyway I hope you all enjoy. R&R!

Prologue

Darkness.

That's the first thing I remember, it was dark, it was cold and I was scared.

Underneath a frozen lake, a small tank engine slowly floated to the surface, breaking through the thin ice and was slowly lifted into the air. He had a very, very pale face plate and his paint was a pale blue with a pure white snowflake printed on the side and electric blue eyes.

But then I saw the moon, it was so big and it was so bright, it seemed to just chase the darkness away. And when it did I wasn't scared anymore.

As the engine was careful placed back onto the ice beneath him quickly froze solid once again, he looked closely at his reflection and then up at the moon.

Why I was there and what I was meant to do, that I've never known. And a part of me wonders if I ever will.

As the engine tried to move forward he felt something cold spread beneath his wheels, looking down he saw that in front of him a train track of ice and frost was forming and the track behind him was turning into frost that soon covered the lake. A wide grin appeared on his face and soon he was racing in circles around the lake, suddenly the ice track shot into the air taking the engine with it! When he managed to get back onto he let out and big sigh, but as soon as he did a great gust of wind full a millions of snowflakes blew out of his mouth. Left out a jolly laugh the engine shot into the air where he noticed a nearby town just passed the forest...

When he finally managed to land (more like crash) he saw a pair of normal train tracks in front of him with different steam engines passing by, completely ignoring him. "Um hello." He smiled but no one seemed to hear him. He noticed two engines talking. On was a girl with a light pink coat and rosy cheeks, the other was a boy with a nice green coat and a tiny whistle. Both of the engines looked miserable along with everyone else. "I'm so sorry for your lose Percy." The girl said to the boy, Percy, who had tears in his lime green eyes. "He was the bestest friend anyone could ever have, and now he's gone Rosy." Percy peeped sadly as small tears fell from his eyes. The engine slowly puffed onto the track so he was next the the girl, Rosy, but about 50 ft in front of Percy. "He's never gone, he lives on in our hearts." Rosy said softly but it didn't do much to stop the small green engines cries.

"I'm sorry." She sighed and began to puff away. After she was gone Percy started to chuff forward, towards the engine. "Hey there, could you tell me where I am?" He asked but the little engine didn't pay him any attention. Before the the blue engine could say anything else Percy just puffed right through him! He gasped at a sudden feeling he felt when Percy went through him, it felt like an electric shot the spread throughout his body and stayed for a few seconds before it slowly faded. "Hello?!" The blue engine cried as some more engines past through him as if he wasn't there, eventually he went back into the forest, a million questions racing through his mind...

My name is Thomas, but everyone else calls my the 'Ghost Train'

How do I know that?

The Man in the Moon told me so, that was all he ever told me.

And that was a long, long, long time ago...
