The Trouble With Bats

Remind me why I'm here again Pep?" Tony asked with an extremely bored expression as she adjusted his tie.

"Because Tony, Wayne Enterprises could be a valuable ally in the future," she replied, forcing a sweet smile on her face.

"Well Bat-boy and I don't really see eye to eye," Tony grumbled, taking a sip from what had to have been his third drink of the evening. Party or no party; he really wasn't looking forward to hearing good old Brucey brag about his newest gadgets and accessories. Tony was already pretty positive it was going to take all his inner strength to stop himself from giving him a Bat-bitch-slap.

"Good Evening Anthony," a low voice said from behind him.

Tony turned to face the inevitable. "Bruce," he said flatly, taking the hand offered to him in a handshake. "I can fly you know," Tony whispered before releasing his grip.

"Yes, I know." Bruce turned his attention to Pepper; gently taking her small porcelain hand in his and pressing a kiss to its back. Tony thought that bitch-slap was looking mighty fine right about now, glaring at the man who was busy attempting to woo his precious Pepper. Their host started to head off and mingle with his other guests; but not before calling back to Tony over his shoulder.

"Hey Stark, give me a call when you have a car that turns into a submarine. Or I suppose you and Pepper could always borrow mine," Bruce smirked.

"Count on it Wayne," Tony hollered back. "C'mon Pepper, lets go," he said taking her hand and leading her towards the exit. "I have a new toy to work
