Attention
--
To describe the emotions that Canada was experiencing in this month of February, one would only have to look up the word 'happy' in a thesaurus. Every single word listed there he felt. Joyous, jubilant, ecstatic, and blissful were only four of many. Canada was experiencing something that didn't happen often, and sometimes never did.
Attention.
He basked in the attention other countries were giving him. He was in the spotlight. The other nations actually noticed him and his people; most importantly their achievements together.
The attention he got from hosting the Olympics was worth the cost of them. The joy and excitement he felt was worth every penny he had to spend. There were troubles that came with the Olympics - but he could fix them, even if it was only temporary.
People actually saw Canada - not the ghost or shadow of America. They saw him as his own nation and not some 'hat' or 'America-clone'.
When Japan greeted him by name, when England ruffled his hair, when France gave him a hug, they all saw Canada. It was truly one of his greatest moments in recent history.
Until Canada won Gold.
He cheered and supported his people, the athletes, every chance he got. No matter how they did he would always love and support them, but they had never won gold on home soil the previous two times he held the Olympics. This time they did.
Canada cried in joy. The congratulations that followed, and the joy that his people felt, was one of the most outstanding instances that he could remember.
Canada was so honoured by the attention, by the support, and by the sportsmanship shown that he wouldn't mind becoming invisible again after the Olympics ended. He could relive every moment of the Olympics long after it was finished.
For now, though, he thrived on the attention. Canada was on top of the world.

A/N: So, a little Olympic/patriotic love here for Canada. I just adore my county. I really dislike it when people say that we are not our own country and only a 'hat' to the United States. It truly bothers me. We are our own nation. We deserve to be recognized as such.
