Times have changed.
There used to be a day when the slightest bit of violence brought concern. A collective feeling of sadness and determination used to flood the veins of the people, feelings that gave birth to the unshakable will to make a change. See an end to ever heinous act. Disaster used to mean kinship, bringing others closer just for the sake of making sure another person was okay. Death used to mean forgiveness, arguments forgotten, yes forgotten, for the sake of something more important in life. Murder used to mean love, time was taken and used gratefully.
There used to be a notable resolve that came with a tragic happening. A burning pain would flood Alfred's being and along with it a passionate rage to forge on no matter the consequences. To take on all the burden with his people and riot in the streets that nothing can take America down, not a murderer, not a shooting, not even a tornado.
But as America spoke of his recent economic development in the great world meeting, with his shoulder throbbing with the sting of yet another school shooting in whatever state, whatever city it was this time, he had to acknowledge that things are different. The only thing he felt now was an unwillingness to deal with it when he got home and frustration in his people with the amount of deaths in just the first few months of the year.
Alfred continued to drawl on in his speech with only a slight hitch and a small sigh of annoyance instead of a flamboyant display of patriotism. He rolled his shoulder with a small dread that he was growing indifferent to the pains of his people, or worse, the people were growing indifferent to the pains of the people. Yes, he mused to himself, times have most definetly changed.
I wrote a thingy again. I don't know, it's late, I'm tired, I feel like writing what I've been looking for but can't seem to find. Like, I want some countries to think about the changes, the violence that started and terrorism and the like. I guess people don't do anything with these things because they think it insensitive or disrespectful to those involved but personal, I believe that this is apart of everyone's life now. These problems are so frequent that it's just life. Hetalia is just a really perfect way to press and express political views and describe the effects of the people themselves on the country. I don't know, that's probably just me. Hope I didn't offend anyone. Night.
