Haruko's Valentine's Day

When Haruko arrived at school at Valentine's Day, she had a depressed look on her face.

The truth was that Haruko absolutely HATED Valentine's Day! She hated it since she hit middle school. Well, more like puberty. She realized then that Valentine's Day sucked like hell without a pretend boyfriend, a REAL boyfriend or at least a friend-boy (boy who's a friend) to give a valentine to. She got bitter about the day since then and absolutely refused to celebrate it in any way whatsoever.

Taro, on the other hand, adored Valentine's Day. He liked, no adored, it since he first went to school with Haruko (ironically, in middle school). He always gave her a valentine, whether it was funny, sarcastic, sympathetic or just lovey-dovey. Now that they were in the eleventh grade, Taro wanted to give her something special. The only problem was actually giving it to her. She looked so angry and just... murderous. He was too afraid to present her his gift and he waited...

"Wait up, Haru!" A voice called out her name after the final bell.

She smiled, content, and saw Taro with a gift box. Her heart fluttered and a blush crossed her face. Then she remembered it was Valentines' Day. She forced her smile back.

"Autumn, I- uh... I have something for you." Taro stammered, a blush rising in his pale cheeks.

She quirked an eyebrow, a smirk forming on her face. "Why are you so nervous? You want to ask out a girl?"

"NO! I want to... just open it!" He blurted out, blush rising even more.

Taro shoved his gift into her hand and shadow-teleported somewhere else (probably Charon, planet) abruptly.

Haruko stood there for a moment, golden eyes surprised. She then untied the golden ribbon and opened the box. What was in the box caused her to gasp.

"Taro..."

She understood why he was stammering like mad.

It was a charm bracelet. She could feel the enchantments on the each charm. The first charm was a heart, similar to her locket. The next was a silver-and-bronze moon, similar to Charon, his matron planet. After that came her symbol, golden (or bronzed, she couldn't tell),

Each charm sang of magic and... devoted love.

He loved her.

That thought caused her mind to go blank.

'He loves me. He LOVES me.' her mind kept on repeating.

That was when Haruko loved Valentine's Day again.

THE END!
