Listen carefully, children. As you know there has been a great, almost never ending war between our clans. On the one side were three hunters aiming to kill the Lord of Vampaneze. The Lord was a young man and in his life, like in those of other men, were women. Of course there was his mother, who sincerely loved him but never got anything in return, then there was a girl he chose for his revenge and a woman he loved. Or so they said. Only a few knew that they were only friends, no more like soul mates.

During one of the nights of their travelling the vampaneze woman joined them like she did occasionally. When everyone was resting the both of them used to talk silently about this and that. Ones one of the younger vampaneze couldn't sleep and overheard them. At first he wanted to turn his attention somewhere else and let them be but then he heard the word "pain" and started to listen carefully.

"Then why are you doing that? Why are you trying to kill your best friend, even though you know that he saved you?", that was the womans unmistakable husky voice. There was saying, she would always look for the most dangerous places in order to be killed.

"You asked me about the cross on my hand some time ago, remember?" the young half-vampaneze murmured barely audible, then louder: "Well I did not just promised, I swore that I would kill him and Creepy Crapsly."

Silence followed.

Then a husky whisper: "I see"

The voice of the Vampaneze' Lord shook a bit when he spoke:

"At least I will kill the vampire bastard, who destroyed our friendship"

Again a silent "I see", then even more quiet "Probably you should cry now, it won't look good if you start crying after you have killed them."

The next thing the vampaneze heard was the soft rustling of clothes and gentle weeping in the background.

So, children, never swear in moments of rage or you will end up like that poor guy.

Suddenly a hand landed on the mans shoulder.

"Are you telling them stories about the war again Gannen?"

"They are just so different that I cannot do anything about thinking of the past, of all those bad thing that happened. I do not want something like that to happen again..."
