A/N: Written on a challenge from Kala, use the lyrics "Just make her smile come back and shine just like it used to be (Blue October)" in a Nathan/Haley story. Takes place mid season two.

You see her wherever you go, constantly in everyone. It's like you're just going through life in pilot drive -- You have been for the past two months. This was never supposed to happen, none of it was. You weren't the kind of guy to fall in love. You dated Peyton and cheated on her every night. And then she entered your life. The constant, the good thing. Seeing her everywhere in the hallways during the start of your junior year she was always so perky and innocent, she had this constant light around her, this glimmer of playfulness in her eyes that you had never seen before. And you figure that's why you ended up liking her so much, because she shined and she was innocent and beautiful. She wasn't Peyton or Theresa or Carly or Michelle or any of the tons of cheerleaders you had hooked up with over the years, she was just Haley James, the amazing girl next door.

And you married the amazing girl.

And the second semester of your junior year, you knew it was going to be the start of the most amazing part of your life because whenever you were around her you were floating and she made you a better person, a person that you actually liked being.

But then it stopped. It was a few small things at first, she would be out late and make up an excuse about being with Brooke and Peyton at the mall or the like. You didn't think much of it, she was Haley, she would never lie to anyone. But the shine was going away and the excuses were becoming more and more, she said she was out with Brooke looking at shoes when you knew damned well Brooke had been sitting next to you watching Jackass all night. You knew that she was with him.

But nothing was going on, because Haley would never lie to anyone.

And just like that, she was gone.

And it had been months.

And You just wanted to see her smile again.
