"Artemis! Kaldur!"

Two people turned in response to their names as Nightwing ran out of the warehouse. Wally was already heading to the roof, giving Nightwing time to share one last thing with his teammates before they headed to their covert mission.

"You must hurry my friend," Kaldur told Nightwing once the former Boy Wonder reached them. "We do not have much time."

Taking a deep breath, Nightwing gasped out "Do you both want to know my identity?"

Silence greeted him in answer as his friends stared at him. Then, a throaty chuckle escaped Artemis' lips while Kaldur smiled, shaking his head.

"Nightwing," Artemis started, "You're talking to us like you'll never see us again." Reaching out, Artemis took Nightwing in a tight hug. "Don't feel as if you need to share your identity because you think we won't come back."

"Have faith, my friend," Kaldur said as Artemis finished the hug and returned to his side. "We do not plan on never returning."

"Tell us when we come home. It'll give us more incentive," Artemis smirked.

"Because trying to come home for Wally isn't enough?" Nightwing said, letting out a sly grin.

Artemis acted as if she was giving deep thought to the question. "Hmmm…nope, not really."

Nightwing snorted in disbelief and let his grin grow wider. Looking at his teammates, his grin soon faded as the worst crossed his mind again. "Are you two sure?"

"We are sure," Kaldur replied. "Thank you, Nightwing, for trusting us enough to make this generous offer. I expect you to share it with us though, when we return. I have wanted to know for some time now."

"You have my word," Nightwing said, nodding his head.

Kaldur nodded back, and turned to head to his ship. Artemis gave a wave goodbye to Nightwing before quickly following Kaldur.

Nightwing waved back to their retreating forms before turning to head to the roof of the warehouse to join Wally. He hoped and prayed with every step that his two friends would be safe and return home alive.

It would be his greatest nightmare if they did not.
