Riddle
"Hey Max!" Nikki shouted, her head popping out from the open door in the tent. Max was playing on a portable gaming system when Nikki barged into his tent. He paused his game and looked up at her.
"What is it, Nikki?" Max asked, a little annoyed that his game was being delayed. He liked Nikki and all, but hated being interrupted.
"I have a riddle I want to ask you," Nikki said, before she practically jumped right next to Max.
"Nikki, I don't like riddles," Max responded, which Nikki responded to by crushing Max with a hug, turning his entire face red with a blush.
"Come on Max, please? It's really fun," Nikki begged, looking at Max with those sad puppy eyes that he had not mastered saying no to yet.
"Alright, alright! What is this stupid riddle anyway?" Max said, with the annoyance in his voice shown on his face. Nikki's smile grew even bigger, which made Max's blush grow even bigger.
"OK, so there are four people at a table; Me, Will, Mary, and You. What order would you make them sit in," Nikki explained, leaving Max with his hand under his chin trying to think of an answer.
"Ummm….OK. Me, You, Will, Mary?"
"Nuh-uh."
"Will, Mary, You, Me?"
"Close but no cigar."
"Will, You, Mary, Me?"
"Ding-ding! We have a winner!"
"Alright," Max said with a slight smirk of success and went to get his game console, before he realized what he had just said. "Hey, wait a sec…" Max muttered before Nikki hugged him from behind, with her head rubbing against his back.
"And yes I will," Nikki said, muffled from his sweatshirt. Max was shocked with his eyes nearly popping out of his head. But, he smiled at Nikki, and rubbed her hair with his hands before Neil came in and started staring at them. When Max and Nikki looked up and saw Neil, they both separated from each other practically at light speed with blushes that took up most of their faces.
"Woohoo! I was right! You two do love each other!" Neil cheered, before the rest of the kids came to the tent, much to the embarrassment of Max and Nikki.
"See Nerf? I told you they'd get together, now pay up!" Neil gloated, while holding an open hand in front of Nerf, who was going through his pockets.
"You bet on us, you asshole!?" Max asked, with a blush on his face with a combination of anger and embarrassment in his voice, while Nikki was uncharacteristically hiding behind Max, and hiding her deep red face with her hands.
"Yeah, we all did. I knew that you two would get together, but Nerf thought you would stay friends. And this is why you never question the findings of a genius," Neil explained before he started gloating and counting the money in his hands. Both Max and Nikki had deep crimson blushes on their faces. Max decided that he and Nikki had had enough embarrassment for one day, and moved to close the tent.
"Fuck you, Neil," Max mumbled before closing the tent, and going back to Nikki's side. Now that they were alone, Nikki gave Max a kiss on the forehead, which Max returned with a kiss on the cheek. Without saying a word to each other, they both laid down on Max's bed, perfectly content with just being in each other's company.
