Hermione slowly opened her eyes and tilted her head up. It was dark. She stretched her neck and yawned, trying to cover her mouth. She sat up fully and winced at a sudden pain in her back.

It was then she realized where she was. In the library. She was in a small corridor between the bookshelf rows that only slightly allowed the moon light from the windows to reach the table on which she had been sleeping.

Love Potions and Their Effects which had been her pillow was laying underneath her, opened at page 27, showing a young wizard surrounded by hearts in which all of them was the face of a pretty young witch with long blond curls. There was a pink-glassed bottle half-spilled next to him.

Oh, she remembered. It seemed so unlike her, but she had been trying to find a love potion to make Ron like her, in a way that she maybe even started looking sexy to him. To make him see that, Hey, Hermione's a girl, too!

Yes, she had been trying to get his attention: shortened her skirt and left some buttons of her blouse unfixed.

But he hadn't even noticed! He was too busy drooling over Lavender and shooting dangerous looks whenever Seamus came too close or actually even touched her, Merlin forbid! Hermione rolled her eyes inwardly.

Lavender had come to be quite an attraction to the boys at Hogwarts. Her light brown and wavy hair made the boys go crazy if they hadn't already become so by her long and slim legs which were quite a show-off, only covered by these mini skirts of her.

It hurt Hermione even more that Ron seemed to like her. But he would never ever consider her something more than a friend.

When she looked pretty, he would only be glad for her and hope that she got a nice boyfriend.

Truth be told, she wanted him. She wanted him badly.

But he didn't notice her in that way.

Speaking of not being noticed, hadn't they wondered where she was?

It seemed to be around midnight and she already went down to the library right after dinner.

Great, she thought. I haven't even found a good potion! Thanks for letting me down when it comes to serious things, library.

She groaned and stood up, clapping the book shut. She then made her way through the shelves to the Gryffindor Common Room which Lavender so loved to call GCR. Wasn't she cool? That btch.

She rushed through the library door and headed for the stairs. It was pretty dark and she couldn't see much but since it was her 6th year, she knew the way by heart.

She grasped the banister tightly as she heard a sudden noise. It was completely dark and all that darkness combined with the quietness that was only occasionally broken by small noises was freaking her out.

Her heart beat was beginning to quicken. It got faster and faster and it became harder to breathe.

Who would've thought Hermione Granger was afraid of the dark? But, then again, even if some people thought otherwise, she was a normal girl after all.

A girl that loved books.

A girl that often seemed really bossy.

A girl that followed rules as if they was nothing else,

but still she was a normal girl of her age.

Hermione sighed. Wasn't she being childish! Hogwarts was a castle full of magic. She should be freaking out should there be no noise at all.

When there was yet another noise though she jumped and squeaked in blatant betrayal to her mind's former reasoning.

She was now running up the stairs, taking two steps at a time.

Come on, you're not eight anymore, Hermione, not even eleven, she told herself, but she kept running nevertheless. She would be in the Gryffindor tower soon.

She rounded the corner.

All of the sudden, she bumped into something solid. Something which she slightly noticed to have a very nice scent.

She looked up.
