"I'd say you're good enough to search for Pokémon anywhere. Here, I'll give you this. Try it out.", said Brendan as he pulls out a CD case from his sling backpack, handing it to May. He continues, "Use fly, and your Pokémon instantly carries you to any town you've already visited. But you need the Fortree Gym Badge to do that."

That was the third time Brendan challenged May to a rematch, though it never turns out as he wants it to, he still does not fail to deliver useful tips and words of encouragement to her. May grinned brightly, and gives him a quick bear hug. "Thanks Brendan! I really appreciate it." Brendan looks away with his hand over his face, trying to hide his obvious blush. "Pff, yeah. Don't mention it." Getting on her bike, May begins to take her leave. "May." Brendan, startled. "You're leaving now?"

"Yeah, I should get to Fortree City now. Something wrong?"

"Um, you know there is another trail to the north that leads up to a cliff that overlooks the mountains. It's not a shabby place…I can take you there if you want." Brendan was surprised how his words came out. Was he asking her on a date? He can just imagine her rejec-

"Sounds good, let's go!" May exclaimed, fire in her eyes, excited as ever. Score.

The tourist area was far more than May imagined. Greens filled up every part of the land visible in sight while the ocean filled up the rest, the water bluer than the skies. It almost looked as if the colors of the scenery was painted on.

"Like it?" Brendan asked, smirking at her overwhelmed face. Not taking her eyes off the landscape, she answers, "Yeah… It's beautiful." Brendan walks up to the wooden handrail, casually leaning on it with May following closely behind. "It's not every day you'll get to see views like this…" He stated while pointing his finger to the whole horizon. She agreed, smiling. But even with such a view ahead, Brendan didn't take his eyes off of May. Seeing a few strands of hair covering her face, he reaches to tuck it behind her ear without much thought. With May a bit startled, their eyes met. It was only a matter of seconds before May glances away, her cheeks pinker than the pink panther. Brendan, also blushing, clears his throat and looks away nonchalantly.

"You know," he started. "If I ever had a girlfriend, I'll take her to places she's not been before."

"…Oh. She'll be very lucky. You seem to know a lot of places Brendan."

"I suppose I do."

May sounded a bit upset, and appear as if she didn't get the hint. The mood also seem to have gotten bit awkward. "I think it's actually better for me to head to Fortree City, I want to get there before evening… Anyways it was nice seeing you Brendan!" May stated while she turns around. But something grabbed onto her; Brendan's hands grasping tightly onto her tiny wrist. Obviously stunned, she didn't say a word.

"Wait… tell me something May." Brendan started, looking her right in the eye. "Why did you sound disappointed?"

"…O-of what?" She looked oblivious to his question.

Sighing, Brendan let loose of her hand, and gave her a quick pinch on the cheeks before heading back onto the trail. "Never mind. I'll take you to Fortree. You've never been there before right?"

"Yeah! Wait up!"
