Mustering the last of his strength, he tilted his head sideways.
Eyes.
Bright green eyes.
Her eyes.
Lily's eyes.
But the face - Severus Snape used to hate that face. But now, in his final moments, it reminded him of his childhood.
A time before he had been pulled too far into Voldemort's circle to have any hope of escaping; when all he had to worry about was James and Sirius's petty teasing.
Severus gazed deep into the eyes, and felt every detail of his Hogwarts years rushing back. The pain, both emotional and physical, was almost too harsh to bear. He felt a tear ooze down his face.
It was in that moment that he realised it.
"Take them." He gasped, gesturing to his tears. His final, most powerful memories. The world faded away for a moment, before he felt a cool vial being brushed against his cheek. Collecting the tears.
He held on, just long enough to focus his eyes on those eyes again.
Harry's eyes.
"You have... your mother's eyes." He said softly. Then his vision blurred; it was just green. Intense, blinding green.
It, perhaps, should have reminded him of Slytherin, or Avada Kedavra, or snakes, or poison; to most people, that's what green meant.
But to Severus, green meant beautiful, clever, kind, red-haired Gryffindor lion Lily Potter.
AN: So... as you 'obviously' know, the amazing actor Alan Rickman has, sadly, passed away. I really wanted to write something involving Snape, so I wrote this; feedback welcome, even though it is only short.
We will 'always' remember Alan Rickman x
