Title: Companion-Rescuer
Summary: It wasn't that unusual, come to think of it. Exactly 200 words!
Rating: G
It wasn't unusual for him to be rescued by his companions, unfortunately. It occurred with increasing frequency the older he got. The Doctor preferred to believe that he was more comfortable around humans now, as opposed to being less careful.
It wasn't even unusual for the Doctor to be rescued by Rose Tyler. In fact, their first adventure so long ago with the Autons kicked off a long line of self-saving companions. If a mere ten years ago he'd been told to wait patiently in a manky jail cell for his companion to rescue him, he would have bashed the naysayer in the kneecaps with the question-mark shaped handle of his trusty brolly.
However, there he sat, in a positively disgusting prison cell on a primitive planet somewhere far from the Judoon, Shadow Proclamation, and civilization in general. The men who had captured him hadn't even had the decency to wear trousers, though he was sure Rose quite enjoyed the loincloth-clad warriors.
No, what was unusual about this situation, or most unusual, was being rescued by Rose Tyler, many, many years after he'd left her and his handy clone in another universe entirely.
But then, he'd had stranger days, lately.
