Men of the Stars
A Starman / Stargate Crossover

Summary: General Hammond calls in an old friend to be the new photo-historian of the SGC.

Background: AU after "Heroes" part one – The difference? Janet was only injured, but she survived and remains our favorite chief medical officer.

Disclaimers: Sadly, I am not associated with the creators or owners of either of these fine shows. No harm is intented to the copyright holders.

I have been giving this a lot of thought Colonel and I think that there maybe some benefit in recording the events here at the SGC. I have there for decided that we should hire a permanent historian/journalist/photographer.

"Sir? Do you really think this is a good idea?"

"I think there you could be times where having what we do documented in more substantial way than black and white reports could be beneficial."

"Did you have someone in mind, Sir?"

"As a matter of fact, I do."

"Hello."

"Scott?"

"Who is this?"

"I see you are still cautious, good."

Scott smiled when he recognized the voice. "General Hammond. It is good to hear from you, sir"

"How have you been Scotty?"

"Good, Sir. How are Tessa and Kayla?"

"They're doing great. They really enjoyed the telescope you sent for Christmas."

"I am glad." Scott paused for a moment. "Somehow, Sir, I don't think you called to shoot the breeze."

"Hmm, you are right. I've called to offer you a job. One that you maybe uniquely qualified for."

"Oh? What kind of job?"

"Well, it is largely classified, but let's just say that it could be one of the most important journalistic endeavors in history."

"Did you say classified?"

"I did." The General paused well aware of why that would give Scott pause to wonder. "But I assure you that it is MY project and that I offer you my personal word that you will be safe."

"Your word has always been good enough for me. Just tell me where and when."

"One more thing," the General began before dismissing the members of SG-1 from the latest briefing. "Later today, the new photographer will be joining the SGC. I want him to get right into it so I want you all to orient him, show him around."

"Sir, I would like again note how much I – don't – like this idea."

"So noted Colonel."

"Sir, who is the photographer?"

"You might have seen his work listed as Hayden Forrester."

"Hayden Forrester? He is a two-time Pulitzer winning photojournalist. He won a Kerth award for investigative journalism." Sam was surprised. "How on earth did you convince someone like that to give-up the recognition of the main stream press to work here?"

"Scotty and I have known each other for a while. I knew he would be perfect and it wasn't hard at all to talk him into it."

"Ah, Scotty? Sir?" Daniel asked.

"Hayden Forrester is just his Professional name."

"Forrester? A photographer? Any relation to Paul Forrester?" Jack asked with an intrigued look on his face.

"His son actually."

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that even remembers Starman: The Series.

Hope someone is interested in the idea.

Thanks,
