Sometimes, simple things you never realized you needed can make you so happy. Rachel Berry has just learned that lesson.

Rachel had never thought that love or family was all that important, what she longed for had been the bright lights of Broadway and the bustle of New York. But now, five years after graduating high school, who would've thought a nursery at a Lima, Ohio hospital was were exactly Rachel wanted to be, surrounded by nurses and crying babies?

"She looks just like you, Rachel." Quinn sighs, taking her wife's hand. "That's our baby girl."

Rachel sighs, feeling a tear slip down her face. She presses her face against the glass, longingly looking at one of the infants in particular, a sleeping girl in a bed marked 'Alexis Colleen Faberry'. Their baby girl.

"I love you, Quinn." Rachel whispers. "You'll never know how much."

"I love you too, Rachel." Quinn sobs in reply. "Look at the beautiful thing we brought into this world."

Rachel hums a few bars of "Never Grow Up" in reply, unable to say anything else.

"Your little hand's wrapped around my finger

And it's so quiet in the world tonight

Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming

So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light

To you everything's funny, you got nothing to regret

I'd give all I have, honey

If you could stay like that."

Rachel smiles at her wife as Quinn sings softly, leaning her head on Rachel's shoulder.

"Oh darling, don't you ever grow up

Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little

Oh darling, don't you ever grow up

Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple

I won't let nobody hurt you, won't let no one break your heart

And no one will desert you

Just try to never grow up, never grow up."

But after that point Quinn starts crying too, unable to sing another bar.

"I wish she could stay this little forever."

"She's so peaceful, isn't she Quinn?"

The blonde nods. "Yeah. Look at her. She has your hair and your nose."

Rachel rolls her eyes. "Oh God, why'd she have to have my nose?"

"I love your nose, babe." Quinn replies, kissing it to prove her point. "Almost as much as I love you."

"Thanks sweetie."

"…Rach?"

"Yes?"

"Do you think you'll ever go back on Broadway? You were amazing in Wicked last year. I'm pretty sure Kurt and Finn bought an entire flower store for you, with all those roses."

Rachel smiled and pondered the question before giving her answer. "I don't think so Quinn. I came back to Lima with you to focus on…us. After carrying Lexi for the past nine months…I've realized how much I love you. I don't want to be with anyone else. Lucy Quinn Fabray, I want you, I need you. All I need is you."

To which Quinn replied, in a which Rachel Berry-esque way, "I know."

And so they continued to watch their daughter sleep together.

"Oh darling, don't you ever grow up

Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little

Oh darling, don't you ever grow up

Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple

I won't let nobody hurt you, won't let no one break your heart

And no one will desert you

Just try to never grow up, never grow up."
