Author's Note: This was a letter Kelida sent Talcon of
the Smoke Jaguars concerning a "peace offer" and "planet exchange" that CSJ
was attempting to force CNC into. Once again, note that all of my
Battletech stories are only roughly based on the Battletech universe -- they
are all set in the NBT-Mercs planetary league (www.netbattletech.com) and
follow the technical readouts of the MW4: Mercenaries computer
game.

A Warning
Loremaster Talcon Wimmer,
I have felt it prudent to obey the Keshik's wishes in remaining silent
on this matter until now -- my words on your ever so gracious offers would
have been sharper than what could be considered politically correct for the
friendly exchange you initiated.
As I returned to my quarters to rest last night, I was almost attacked by
the visions that set themselves upon me. They came wave after wave, in such
an onslaught that I collapsed to the floor beneath their strength. How long
I was held enthralled I cannot say, for time has no meaning to a Nova Cat
warrior glimpsing the future.
When I finally came to, the feelings of dread that plagued me throughought
the night barely faded away, and I knew clearly that it was my place to speak
with you, Loremaster.
Slaughter and tyranny do not reunite that which the Inner Sphere has broken.
Like parents, we should guide our wayward children into reuniting the Star
League -- not kill, conquer, and rebuild it ourselves.
Your proposal of planetary exchange, which will give your clan a clear invasion
corridor into the Draconis Combine, is preposterous. I would rather have
my own blood spilled a thousand times over than watch as your clan commits
genocide.
Mark my words, Loremaster -- what goes around will come around in due time.
It is a fact of life.
I only pray that our Smoke Jaguar brothers will realize that it is our destiny
to protect and guide the Inner Sphere, not annihilate it. In the spirit of
the brotherhood that we hope will develop within the Inner Sphere under our
guidance, our Keshik will continue to attempt peace talks... with one
caveat.
We may be mystics and visionaries, Loremaster, but we are not fools. Please
make your next offer more reasonable.
Kelida Nova Cat
Loremaster/Oathmaster
