I roll out of bed feeling plenty refreshed. Being a unicorn who hates having cold hooves, I use my horn to locate my bunny slippers. I tumble down the steps and waltz into the kitchen. I greet my mom and dad good morning and start preparing a bowl of cereal for myself.
"Guess what, Rarity?" my mom questions me. "I'm going to be having a baby!"
I immediately spit out whatever spoonful of cereal I had in my mouth.
"What?" I ask, but I sounded so high-pitched that my voice started to crack.
"We're going to have a baby!" repeats my dad.
"How could you just spring this on a pony!" I demand. Being an only child, I'm definitely not prepared for a new addition to the family. I race upstairs without bothering to finish my breakfast. I jump on my computer and type out a quick email to one of my very best friends, Applejack, because she's got many siblings and just recently, a new baby sister. I finish typing up my email and send it out as quickly as I can.
Dear Applejack,
My mom's going to be having a baby soon and I'm really nervous. I've never had any younger siblings and I'm afraid. I'm still only a filly! You have so many older/younger siblings and I was just wondering if you could give me any advice.
Thank you, Rarity
I groggily trot downstairs to finish my breakfast even though I really don't want to. I avoid eye contact with my parents and quickly gobble down my food. I do sorta feel ashamed about the way I acted towards my parents "wonderful" news. I fling out the door in a jiffy on my way to visit one of my other best friends: Pinkie Pie. Pinkie is a fun-loving pony with a great personality who can always crack another pony up. And a good laugh is just what I needed.
