The young boy rolled over in the large bed, he was alone and the room was dark. He couldn't tell time yet, but the sky told that it was afternoon, yet raining. Tiny legs slipped from the covers and touched the floor after a delicate struggle off of the high bed. He could hear a clam laughter coming from outside of the room as the rain pattered on the window. Anxiety and loneliness washed over the small America before he darted out of the empty room and to the hall way. Just ahead was his room, quiet and clean with a stuffed bear left laying on the floor where he left it during his late night run to England's room when the thunder hit.
"It's okay, the rain will let up soon. When he wakes up, we'll go to the store for you."
Bright eyes looked to the living room, the TV was on, the lights, the dog curled on the couch. Where was he... Alfred waddled to the living room and took a left. There. A man in his late teens stood tall next to the table. "Big bwother...?" Alfred whispered in a sleepy tone, pulling at his nightgown embarrassed.
England turned around with a big smile and squatted down to America's level. "Good morning, Prince. How did you sleep, better?" Alfred stared at the ground, he was shy, embarrassed that he cried and crawled into Arthur's bed because of a storm, but the branches hit his window and made such a scary noise. He was only a child, and loud noises startled him.
The child's shyness was nothing new to the Brit. He thought that Alfred was the cutest thing on the planet and would do anything for him. Although, he could see that the child was embarrassed about his actions, always trying to be older than he was.
"Hey Alfred. You know, you're a superhero and an angel."
Strong hands reached under Alfred's arms and lifted the boy into the air while Arthur stood up. "And you can fly because we love you." Arthur lifted Alfred above his head and ran a circle around the living room. "Like an angel you can fly!"
Giggles and laughs filled the room while Alfred was held up, arms out like he was flying while Arthur ran around. "You know..." Arthur started, after setting Alfred to sit on his shoulders, "Even I don't like thunder. It's loud and scary right? It's much better to be with someone. So.." The sandy blonde tilted his head to the side to look up at Alfred with a kind loving smile. "Please find me when you're scared. Then you won't be alone! I'll always be there for you, no matter what."
Tiny arms flung around Arthur's head and held on as tight as they could. "I love you big bwother!" Alfred chimed happily. Laughing, Arthur returned the statement of love then hopped around to get to Alfred's room.
"What cute clothing shall we wear today, we have errands to run."
"I wanna match you!"
"Really? Well than this outfit will work right?"
"Yeah!"
They laughed again, blissfully happy.
"... Can I get iwce cweam?"
"... It will spoil your appetite though..."
"P-Please Artie?" Alfred gave him the saddest puppy eyes he could muster. Arthur's heart melted.
"Fine... but don't tell."
"Yippy!"
