I can see in his eyes that the realization hit him hard. I'm looking into his eyes and I can feel my own eyes getting watery.
"Henrietta?" He asks when his voice comes back to him.
I smile and some tears are already falling. I feel like a little girl again.
"Hi, dad." I say and he takes me in his arms. We're just standing in the train car hugging each other and it feels great. It feels like he'd been in my life all those twenty years, even though he'd been stuck in amber. I just can't believe my luck. After all the searching, I finally found him. I found my dad.
Now we have to find mom and grampa Walter. And of course Astrid as well.
After we found Walter and Astrid, we finally also managed to find mom at last. We found out that someone had bought her. When we got to the adress, we found a little man with a huge collection of various things that would surely land him in the baldies' custody. He kept talking crazy stuff like it was supposed to be him who wakes mom up and that she was supposed to fall in love with him.
We got the amber piece with mom to the van and made our getaway, but something awful happened.
We lost Walter. We'll have to rescue him, but for that we're gonna need mom.
"Ready?" Dad asks me.
I just nod my head. He charges the device and I aim the wand at mom and wait for his word. I can't help it, but my hands are shaking.
"One..." My pulse quickens
"Two..." I can feel my heart as if it was beating in my neck.
"Three..." I press the button on the wand and send mom flying out of the amber. Dad and Astrid rush to her and dad gives her the shot. Mom gasps and then starts to calm down.
Dad is crouching in front of mom and he's holding her face gently in his palms.
"Where am I?" I hear mom ask.
"You're in the year 2036." Dad explains to her.
She lets out a big sigh.
"I ambered myself."
Dad nods.
"You did. We all did."
That's when she notices me and looks at me.
Dad sees this and says
"I found her. More to point, she found us."
Damn it, there are tears in my eyes again. I can hold them, I'm a big girl now. Easy to say, but when you get your family together after twenty years, it's not easy to do.
"Olivia, I want you to meet Etta. Kido, come meet your mom." Dad says.
"Hi, mama." I say in a small voice and I feel like a three year old girl again.
I kneel down to her and she's just looking at me, speechless. We just look into each other's eyes without a word. Then mom breaks the silence.
"You're beautiful." She says.
I give a small laugh and sniff.
"So are you." I say and I can't hold the tears any longer. They are streaming down my cheeks.
"Last time I saw you, you were three years old." Mom tells me.
"All this time I thought I was four."
Mom gently pulls me to her and hughs me. I am quietly sobbing on her shoulder. She's gently stroking my hair.
"No. You were three years, one month and five days. There wasn't a moment that I didn't think about you." She says.
Then still holding me she asks
"Where's Walter?"
I slowly pull away and keep shifting my gaze between my parents.
The room falls into complete silence. Then dad explains the situation. Mom and dad look at each other and I can see in their eyes that they are ready to do anything. Anything to bring grandpa back.
Then hopefully we can be a family again.
