Street racing. A dangerous thing, but damn, it was fun.

For the past two weeks, John had been working on his brand new Mustang. He had been importing parts from Japan, changing out the engine; basically making it the ultimate car to win a race. He was proud of himself, but he knew that that was nothing. He still had to race.

As per request from John, Angie was dressed by six. Nothing fancy, the usual casual wear. Once her hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, John busted through the bedroom door. In his hand, he was holding pink slips and numerous wads of cash. "What are you doing with that?" She asked, letting the curiosity wash over her. John only grinned in response. "We're hitting the streets." It didn't take a genius to figure out what he meant, not after all the work he had been doing on the car.

Grabbing her purse off the side table, Angie headed downstairs. John was nowhere in sight. "In the car." She whispered, opening the front door. Sure enough, John was there waiting. A smirk appeared over her lips as she ran outside, going over to the car. Angie quickly climbed up into the passenger seat, before she put on her seatbelt. "I hope you're ready to come home with a winner." John said, grinning over at her.

In almost an instant, John started the car, backed out the drive and began going down the road. The ride was silent, except for the radio blasting. John had to have music going at all times. There were several turns, but once they were there, she knew it. Cones blocked off the main roads and hundreds of cars were parked for the show. "Wow." Angie whispered, shaking her head. "I know, babe. We're up first." He said, nodding his head.

She looked at him in disbelief as he drove to the starting line, where four other cars were stopped. Their engines were revving and the drivers were throwing insults back and forth. "I hope you're ready for a fast ride." John said, watching as the flag girl stepped out on the road. She counted to three, waved the flag, then spun as all five cars roared past her.

John was focusing on out running the other cars, which he had, all except for two. In the passenger seat, Angie was clinging onto the handlebar that was attached to the roof. She had never experienced this much speed in a vehicle before and she was starting to get a bit scared. "Babe, slow down." Angie said, biting down on her lip. Everything around them was flying past, the car had to be going over a hundred. "Not yet."

With those words, John pressed two red buttons on the steering wheel, causing the car to go flying past the others. "Fuck." She cursed. The finish line was quickly approaching and once the two of them crossed it, Angie giggled with excitement. John brought the car to a screeching halt, quickly getting out. Angie followed his lead and ran over to him, jumping in his arms. The crowd of people were rushing to congratulate him, but most of all, the other cars were driving over the line to give John his winnings. Despite the fear she had earlier, maybe street racing wasn't a bad thing.

A/N; this was a requested story. I still have a list of requests to do, but if anyone wants to possibly read chapter 2 - please let me know!
