"How dare you?!"
"You deserve to be put in your place, filth!"
"Say that again you bigoted pig."
"You are filth, mudblood."
"Come on guys, leave them be, you all know this will last a good while and won't amount to anything." Harry said to the group around them. The students left, leaving Draco and Hermione screaming at each other in the middle of a hallway.
"If I am filth then you are the lowest scum on the face of the planet, ferret."
"I have rank and power, you'll never amount to anything."
"Oh really? Being a spoiled brat doesn't mean that you have power!" They were inches from each other now, their noses were almost touching. Draco looked around quickly. Hermione could feel his breath on her.
Draco grabbed Hermione and kissed her deeply. She deepened the kiss and ran her hands through his hair, pulling him closer to her. Draco's arms wrapped around her waist and his finger tips brushed against the top of her skirt. He reached for her legs and pulled them around his waist before pushing her against the nearest wall. Hermione moved her kisses to his neck and Draco moaned. She knew his weak spot so well.
"Let me take you," Draco whispered in her ear.
"Find a classroom." Hermione whispered back. Draco dropped her legs down and grabbed both of their school bags before grabbing her wrist and running down the hall to an empty classroom. Hermione silenced and locked the door before she dropped her wand and let Draco wrap his arms back around her. Hermione made quick work of his belt and before she knew it she was on the ground with her skirt up and her panties ripped off. Draco entered her roughly and bit her lip gently before he started thrusting into her. It wasn't long before both had gotten off. Draco was laying next to her, holding Hermione in the after math of their bliss.
"I've missed you." He whispered between nibbles on her ear.
"You've missed the sex." Hermione moaned back. Draco chuckled.
"You don't realize how amazing you are. And I didn't just miss the sex. The after portion where I don't have to pretend that I hate you is pretty nice." Draco kissed her on the lips. "I don't know how I survived a summer without you."
"I don't think I could do it again. You never even wrote to me."
"I wrote!"
"One letter? That was supposed to get me through the summer?"
"Owls don't exactly travel across countries, I didn't have much choice." Hermione looked over at Draco.
"I'll have to introduce you to muggle post then. Where were you?"
"Italy, Blaise was looking for his father yet again. His mother claims he's dead but Blaise thinks he found proof that his father survived the assassination attempt."
"Next summer you are taking me out of country to one of your various homes. The one in Greece sounds nice."
"That one is one of my favorites and no one else in the family uses it. It would be nice to get away."
"It would be nice to finally act as a couple in public."
"Unfortunately, the prophet has ties in Greece."
"This isn't going to work, is it?"
"Maybe if my father dies."
"Does he have any health issues?"
"Besides his unhealthy obsession with the Dark Arts and being a follower of Voldemort, not a single health issue." Draco sighed.
"So I guess this is just a fling that we never tell anyone about." Hermione sat up slowly and fixed her clothing. Draco followed suit. He took her hand and turned her toward him.
"You know that I don't want to hide this, don't you? This isn't just something I'm doing to pass the time." Hermione smiled slightly at him.
"I know and I wish things were different and that we weren't on the brink of war, but I'm not going to stop living and give up on someone I love because of an uncertain future." Draco pulled her into him and kissed her. Both knew this would be the last kiss for a few weeks so they made the most of it.
Draco stood at the entrance of the Great Hall. He glanced at the Slytherin table, then over to Hermione sitting across from her two best friends, then back down at the letter in his hand that he had read several times this morning. He had a choice to make and deep down he knew he was making the right one, even though it wasn't the easy choice. Draco stood up straighter and entered the Great Hall, making his way to his intended destination.
"Get lost, Malfoy." Draco sat down rather close to the brown haired girl and ignored the boys who were glaring at him. He had his back to the Slytherin table so that he couldn't see anyone's reaction to the choice he was making. Hermione looked over at him with worry and curiosity filling her eyes.
"What are you doing?" She asked quietly. He looked over at her and his eyes softened.
"Making a choice." He handed her the letter and watched as she read it over. He could tell there were a large number of eyes watching what was going on, and few people were talking. Hermione was reading the long letter when Ginny walked up.
"You're in my spot, ferret." Ginny said.
"Then sit next to me." He responded, only glancing over at her.
"Ginny, just sit next to him, he won't bite you." Hermione said quietly, her eyes never leaving the letter. When she got to the bottom she saw the extra bit that Draco had added for her. She looked over at him with a questioning look in her eye.
"I don't know who told him but I don't care." Hermione frowned and raised her eyebrows in disbelief. "Fine, I would like to hex whoever told my father, however he was going to find out my choice by winter break anyways, this just sped it up by a few months."
"What choice?" Potter interrupted and I turned to face him.
"I've picked my side in the war. I've stayed neutral for as long as I could but that isn't a luxury I have anymore. My father sent a threatening letter this morning and I've responded to it with my decision."
"Draco, where's your ring?" Hermione asked. I turned toward her.
"That was my response." I smirked in her direction.
"Wait, since when is he 'Draco'?" Ron asked Hermione but the only response he received was Hermione throwing her arms around Draco's neck and kissing him firmly on the lips. And to the shock of everyone else in the room, Draco wrapped his arms around her and kissed her in return. Ginny's mouth hung open, Pansy was bawling her eyes out, Nott looked disgusted, and all the Professor's paused their breakfast routines at the scene. The two broke up their kiss and shared a small smile before turning to eat breakfast.
"Wait, you two were throwing insults at each other just yesterday. You're always throwing insults at each other and no one can break up those fights." Hermione raised her eyebrows and Draco just smirked.
"I thought the last fight was rather inventive, actually. I've never been called the lowest scum on the planet before." Draco looked at Hermione.
"You deserved it after saying all female mudbloods should wear collars and follow their pureblood master's on a leash." Hermione laughed slightly.
"Hey, that one was rather inspired." Draco raised an eyebrow at her and she blushed.
"Oh my god!" Ginny squealed. "I expected Malfoy to be into kinky shit like that but I never expected that from you, Hermione. You have to tell me everything!"
"Stop! Just everyone stop. I'm still stuck on Hermione calling Malfoy by his first name." Potter said.
"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Draco murmured. Hermione elbowed him.
"Play nice." Hermione snapped at her boyfriend. Draco rolled his eyes. "Harry, I've been calling him by his first name since last Halloween."
"And you've been so kind as to clear the hallway of students when we've been fighting since February." Draco smirked at Potter whose eyes got wide.
"But, Hermione, I thought you liked me." Ron said. Hermione frowned over at Ron.
"Ronald, I've never been romantically interested in you, especially with how you treat me."
"But what about how he treats you?" Ron complained.
"The insults are an act on both of our parts. He also doesn't use me as a walking encyclopedia because he studies just as much as me. And, I've never caught him snogging Lavender." Hermione gave a pointed look at Ron who just said "Oh."
"Now if any of you have a problem with this you can keep it to yourself. You've always trusted my judgment before, even if you don't follow my advice, so this shouldn't be any different." Hermione looked around at everyone in her group before turning back to Draco and giving a small smile.
"Are you ready to walk to class with me?" Draco asked Hermione.
"I've been ready for months." Hermione grabbed her bag and strode out of the hall, holding Draco's hand.
