Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters in the story, they belong to JKR (who is obviously a lot better at this writing thing then me) and the song in this here fic was written by Amy from Evanescence and is called "You"

(A/N: this line was given to me from Nival Vixen to start a fic from. I would like to thank her for all her help: "Draco looked over at the jazz band, wincing each time the saxophone player hit a wrong note. Ginevra shook her head with a smile, and put her hand on his, quietly telling him to reply to the waiter.")

--------------------------------------

Draco looked over at the jazz band, wincing each time the saxophone player hit a wrong note. Ginevra shook her head with a smile, and put her hand on his, quietly telling him to reply to the waiter. Doing so, Draco stood from his chair and walked around the table to where Ginny was sitting. He kissed her lightly on the lips and took her hand, guiding her from her seat. However instead of leading her towards the door to leave, he headed towards the stage. There he spoke quietly to the stage manager as Ginny looked nervously on. After a few moments the manager nodded his head. Draco and Ginny stepped up on the stage. Draco seated himself at the piano on the left of the stage and turned to watch Ginny continue to the centre of the stage. She took a deep nervous breath and slowly let it out as the last saxophone notes died. Ginny didn't turn to watch the man and the rest of the band leave; she just continued to stare out towards the people still dining where the quiet chink of forks sounded.

The first soft notes from the piano started and Ginny could feel her heart beat quicken. Taking another breath to steady herself she let the music guide her. She knew this song very well and she opened her mouth drew in a deep breath and started to sing:

The words have been drained from this pencil
Sweet words that I want to give you.

And I can't sleep, I need to tell you. Goodnight

When we're together I feel perfect.

When I'm pulled away from you I fall apart

All you say is sacred to me,

Your eyes are so blue I can't look away

As she sung these words she had written she could feel them, connect with the music from Draco. She knew that together it sounded amazing; separately it was so much less inspiring. This song showed everyone how they connected and how they had over come their differences and everything that stood in their way.

As we lay in the stillness you whisper to me

Baby, marry me

Promise you'll stay with me

Oh you don't have to ask me

You know you're all that I live for

You know I'd die just to hold you

Stay with you some how I'll show you

That you are my night sky

I've always been right behind you

Now I'll always be right beside you

Ginny could see the audience in front of her, everyone's eyes was watching and she could feel the stillness as people felt their music and their love. Even though the song was for Ginny and Draco she hoped the other couples could connect with the love. Closing her eyes she concentrated on bringing out the clearest notes.

So many nights I cried my self to sleep

Now that you love me I love myself

I never thought I would say this

I never thought there'd be

You

The music died softly after these words and left the room quiet for a second or two, and then the applause burst through. Ginny bowed her head shallowly, mainly to hide her flushed face. She felt two strong arms grab her from behind, turn her and dip her. Draco kissed her passionately which brought on more whistles from the audience. The couple pulled apart and bowed together once more. Draco put his arm around Ginny's waist and they left the stage together.
