"Dad! I don't want to go to school!" I whined. "Adam, you're 8 years old. You're old enough to know that you have to go." "But this time it's different! This is a new school and I don't know anyone!" I insisted. "You'll make new friends, come on." Reluctant, I got into the car and let my dad drive me to elementary school.

"Attention class! This is our new student, Adam," my new teacher introduced me. I heard people whisper about it. "Half-way through the school year? Really?" I heard. Someone else said, "He's wearing sunglasses, is he hiding something?" I'm not hiding anything, I thought angrily.

Then I noticed the only people smiling. A boy with shoulder length hair, headphones, and red eyes, and another boy with a plaid t-shirt and wide framed glasses. "You're seat is over there," the teacher said, pointing towards the two boys. Yes!

Recess was so weird. No one knew me and I knew no one, so naturally I was all alone. Sitting on one of the benches, I noticed Ty and Tyler (yes I figured out the names of the two boys I sat next to) walking around on the blacktop. I saw Ty glance at me, then started walking towards me. "Uh, hey Adam."

MunchingBrotato's POV

"Adam seems like an awesome guy, imma talk to him. Stay here," Ty said. "Wait!" I yelled, but he was already to far to hear me. I shrugged.

Ty never looks that excited when we meet new people. Will he…? Nah, they'll meet and forget about each other. It's not like they'll even remember each other tomorrow.

But once Ty stopped talking to me, I realized how wrong I was.
