Here for You

He sat there in between his two best friends arguing about her date. He wanted to yell at Ron to shut up and leave her alone. He watched as she got up and left to go back to Viktor. He stared at Ron then said, "You're a real git, Ron."

"What?" Ron asked questionably. As if he didn't know what he did.

"You just ruined her night. She can go with anyone she wants." He got up and left without another glance.

He came back into the castle wanting to find Hermione and tell her about what he just saw between Snape and Kakaroff. He then found Ron and Hermione going at it again, but this time she was in tears. She turned him and said, "Where have you been?" He motioned outside. "Never mind off to bed, both of you." He headed towards the stairs and Ron. He glared at him, already ready to punch him in the face.

"They get scarier when the get older," Ron said.

"Ron, you ruined everything!" He saw her collapsed on the stairs before they disappeared.

He and Ron walked down the hall little ways, until Harry stopped and pushed Ron into the wall. "What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked him, anger growing inside of him.

"What do you mean? I'm trying to help you." Ron asked confused.

"Well, I don't want your help. You were a git tonight and she didn't do anything to deserve that." He had to restrain himself from punching him out. He looked at him up and down then left.

He reached the stairs and she was still there crying, he sighed then walked over. He took off his dress robe and draped it over her shoulders. Then sat down next to her. She turned her head and saw him sitting there with a sad face. She could tell that it killed him to see her like this. He looked at her then slowly wrapped his arm around her shoulders and held her in his arms. He then whispered in her ears, "It's all right, 'Mione. He was just jealous. I mean you were breath taking tonight."

She looked at him and smiled. "Thanks Harry. You really are my best friend." She then reached up and kissed him on the cheek.

He smiled got up and reached for her hand. "Let's go to bed." She took it and got up and followed him to the common room. They got to the different dormitories and he opened the door for her. She then hugged him goodnight and went in. He then too went to bed.

The next morning, he found her sitting at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall and walked over to her. He sat down and said, "You okay, Hermione?"

She smiled and said, "Yeah, thanks, Harry."

"I'm always her for you Hermione, no matter what." He smiled, his sweet, kind, Harry Potter smile.

He then saw Ron enter and said, "I'll be right back." He got up and walked over to him.

"What? Got something else to say, I already apologized to her for last night," Ron said, motioning to Hermione at the table, who was eating her toast and reading.

"Sorry, for last night Ron." Harry shrugged.

"It's all right, mate. Would've done the same thing. Besides I was being an ass."

"So, we're good then?" Ron nodded and then they headed back to where Hermione was sitting. "Just so you know, if you hurt her again, we're done. For good. But if you put me in the middle like that again, I'll be there for her, always. Got it?"

"Yeah," Ron responded. "I understand, too."

"Good, let's have breakfast then."
