Rin loved a lot of things about Haruka Nanase. He loved the way he moved, the way he'd sneak a peek at his reflection in the tinted glass of shops when he thought no one was looking. How his pretty, blue eyes would sparkle while the rest of his face remained placid. Even the way he shook his hair out after a swim, disregarding anyone who happened to be within range of the water droplets. Rin especially loved the contrast of his swimming; how he could go from drifting lazily through the water one moment and shooting through it the next. Haru was a book of beautiful things to love and Rin wanted nothing more than to flip the pages one by one; taking his time to memorize everything about him.

Today he'd decided to memorize the curve of Haru's jaw, tracing it with his eyes as they sat with the Iwatobi club, Ai, and the older Mikoshiba. He'd grown bored of the fickle conversation over the cookies Gou had brought (they were too salty anyway) and had resorted to this as his only form of entertainment; starting with side glances when no one was looking and escalating to outright staring at him. Haru noticed, he was sure of that by the way his blue eyes kept flashing toward Rin before darting away. But Haru wouldn't say anything in front of the others. This was their secret. No one else knew. No one could no.

Rin had often wished their relationship could be easy. Something comfortable that they could just slide into the way Nagisa and Rei did. But they weren't easy people. He just couldn't outright be with Haru like that. It was a raging war between wanting to pull out his cocky attitude to jibe Makoto, and passionately kissing Haru in front of their friends.

"Haru come here" Rin was broken from his observation by Makoto's voice. "You have cake on your face"

Jealousy flared in Rin's stomach as Makoto swiped the cake crumbs off with his finger, drawing them purposefully over the curve of Haru's lips. The redhead had to force back the urge to jerk Haru backwards and cradle him away from Makoto's fingers. Haru belonged to him. Not to Tachibana.

"Well it's getting dark, we'd better head home" Rei got to his feet with the others, pulling Nagisa along with him as he did. "See you guys"

"Right. Catch you late!" Mikoshiba waved to them as he retreated with Nitori.

"Haru-"

"Come on, Haru. I'll walk home with you" Rin interrupted Makoto, grabbing Haru's arm and pulling him away as fast as he could manage.

"What are you doing, Rin?" Haru asked as soon as they were safely around the corner.

Rin didn't answer as he tugged Haru toward him and kissed him softly, his lips lingering there for longer than they should have. "He has no right to touch you like that"

"Makoto isn't-" He cut Haru off with another kiss.

"I don't care. You're mine" Rin held his boyfriend's cheek in his hand, ducking down to plant another kiss on his lips.

Haru moved out of range. "I know that. And you know that. Makoto is just a friend"

"He's too touchy" Rin argued, pulling Haru as tightly against him as he could.

"I'm all yours Rin. Just remember that." Haru mumbled against his chest. "I love you"

"I love you too, Nanase"
