A/N: A drabble based off another prompt from a 100 themes challenge based off emotions, although I question the credibility of birth as an emotion. Regardless, it's not placed with the stuff in Look Closer due to being a part of a different challenge.

Oh yeah, spoilers for Origins.

Sagi's life truly began when the piece of Malpercio had been placed inside him.

That was the moment his life truly began. That was the moment he was born. Without that one little factor, his story would never have been told. Machina would dominate the continents. The stepping-stones would never have been laid so that Kalas and his friends could restore the world twenty years later.

Sagi wasn't the only one born that day, either. In a strange kind of way, Marno, Milly and Guillo were born that day as well.

Marno was returned to the world of the living, if only as a spirit. It was through his memories that the truth was discovered about the nature of Malpercio. They were not malevolent, far from it. Rather, their actions were possibly some of the most benevolent acts in history.

Sagi was the one who dug Guillo up from where he had been entombed in the Nuskan Thornwood. By doing so, he had uncovered a relic from the past. He had eventually helped Guillo discover himself, something that only helped his reputation as a hero. But when he dug Guillo up that fateful day, Guillo had been reborn.

Milly, perhaps, may have been the one most affected by Sagi's actions. By traveling with him and eventually falling in love, she had learned the error of her father's ways, vowing to stop him no matter the cost. The day she joined up with Sagi essentially purified her, turning her into a new and better person.

Of course, none of this would've been possible without the malideiter experiment.

So really, Sagi's parents only provided a shell for him to inhabit.

They didn't form his soul and heart.
