"You're leaving?"

The sound of the wind fills the silence between them. The red-haired boy just keep quiet hearing the question from the girl in front of him.

"Yes." He replied without looking at her directly and prefer to turn his face.

"But why?"

"Don't ask me why. You should know."

"Do... do you want to go training?"

Silver's silence indicates that the answer is 'yes'. Kotone could only stare him for a moment.

"B-but, you're strong! Why go to such distant Unova region to go training? You could go training here! Actually what's your purpo─!"

"My goal is to beat you, okay!?"

Kotone's eyes grew bigger. Then the rain began to fall slowly─which made they get soaked by it─as if the rain do not want to miss the bickering between these stubborn trainers.

"I just want to beat you as my strongest rival, Kotone. Nothing else."

"But why me? Why do I have to be your main goal? I'm not that strong─!"

"Haha. Not that strong? Do you never realize that you have defeated me dozens of times, beat Team Rocket, sixteen Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and eventually become the Champion! And you said you are not that strong!?"

The rain became heavier and louder. And despite being very wet, they still didn't budge from their place. Prefer to continue the conversation rather than seeking shelter.

Kotone just silent. Do not know what to say. And when Silver realized what he said earlier, he put his hand into his pocket and said,

"S-sorry. I didn't mean... to scream. I just, I once had promised to become the greatest trainer to my mother in heaven. So I..." He scratched his own head. Don't know to continue it or not.

Kotone surprised, "Y-your mother? I-I'm sorry, Silver. I don't know that you... have a reason like that."

"No. It's... perfectly fine. You don't have to apologize to me."

"I-I only, will feel very lonely when you're gone, Silv. So I..." the brunette girl started to sob. Tears falling down. And eventhough the tears were covered by rain, Silver can still see it.

"He-hey, idiot! Why are you crying!? After all, why do you have to feel lonely if I go? You've got a lot of friends here! There are Kris, Ethan, Lance, and your Pokémon!" Silver gripped Kotone's shoulders and staring into her hazel eyes.

Kotone opened her mouth a little, "It's because..."

The rain began to subside, the only remaining is raindrops between them. As if the rain want to clarify her voice when delivering her words.

"... I really love you, Silver."

Silver's eyes grew bigger as the sunlight began to come, replacing the gloomy atmosphere given by the earlier rain.

"I don't want to say goodbye to you." Kotone stared at the ground beneath her, didn't want to see the face of Silver which are only a few inches in front of her.

Seeing Kotone like that, slowly but surely, Silver hugged her softly─which made she got surprised─he then kissed her forehead, and smiled.

"Idiot. It's not really a goodbye. It's a see you again."

Ah, a failed romance, right?/shotbySSfans

Yes I made Silver left her just because simple reason : He wants to beat Kotone. But remember when Kotone met Silver for the second time, he said that he wanted to become the greatest trainer? And I remembered that he didn't have a mother anymore, so, I think that makes sense.

And one more, in the story, I prefer to use 'see you again' rather than 'goodbye'. Why? Although someone left a friend for a long time, but they said 'see you again', it means they would like to see their friend again (although it didn't happen). But if they said 'goodbye', well, it's like they're going to leave them forever and it makes me sad (not that I hate the word though).
