Annabeth's boarding school friends aren't very impressed with Percy the first time they see him. What they are impressed with is the look Annabeth gets in her eyes when she sees him, like she's just discovered something new and wonderful. "Where can I get some of that?" One of them whispers.

Some of the new campers are overstepping their boundaries, at least Percy thinks so.

"Are you sure you can actually handle her?" one of them asks when they hear that Percy and Annabeth are an item. Percy-after turning ten different shades of red-scoffs. Of course he can! …Maybe.

::

"I'm so tired of this." Annabeth drops down onto one of the hotel beds. Another day of fruitless fighting against Kronos. Great. She looks about as weary as she feels. There are smudges all over her face, rips in her clothes, and blood caked in her curly blonde hair, which makes for a startling contrast. Even so, Percy still thinks she looks beautiful.

He takes her hand in his. "It'll get better soon. I know it will."

Every moment away from her feels like an eternity. It isn't supposed to be like this, he thinks. Relationships aren't supposed to make him feel so desperate, so yearning. Wasn't this the cure for yearning? All he knows is that seeing her face after a long day away is a lot sweeter than he'll ever admit.

::

"Annabeth don't you hang up on me! I didn't do anything wrong!" Percy pleads into the phone, to no avail. He can't even remember what they're fighting about, but he just wants it to be done with. There's a moment of silence and then Annabeth chokes out something like "dumb Seaweed Brain" before hanging up for the fifth time that day.

Every day feels like a fight. A fight against everyone around them, a fight against each other. Percy just lets it roll off his shoulders. What matters isn't that Annabeth is constantly screaming and cursing at him. What matters is that afterwards she'll hold his hand and lean her head on his shoulder and he'll know that everything is alright.

::

Percy was unfamiliar with cuddling. So when he and Annabeth went on a date to the movies, and her head leaned on his shoulder, he panicked. She was warm and comfortable, but he was too surprised to enjoy the moment. Should he put his hand around her shoulders? Should he just leave it awkwardly at his side? Since when was Annabeth into cuddling?

He was about to move his arm and drape it around her shoulders when Annabeth snorted loudly. "What the…!" Looking down, Percy saw that his girlfriend was solidly asleep. And snoring. He just chuckled under his breath, reminding himself to poke fun at her after the movie was over.

Their first fight as a couple is bad, even by demigod standards. After it's done, Percy's room is completely trashed; everything throw-able has been utilized and sent flying across the room. His furniture is in shambles and the chair that had previously been in front of his desk could now be anywhere in Manhattan, having been thrown out the window. In the middle of it all is the flustered couple themselves, their fists still instinctively raised. In a heartbeat their defenses are dropped, though, and Percy and Annabeth cling to each other desperately, Percy whispering unheard apologies into Annabeth's hair.

::

Annabeth is the first to say 'I love you.' It's to be expected, really. Percy's been trying, but he gets to flustered, or starts second-guessing himself. But as soon as she says it, the words come out of his mouth easier than ever, "I love you too, I love you, I love you."

::

"Do you ever regret saying no to the gods' offer to make you immortal?" Annabeth asks this frequently. Percy's face flushes and he shrugs, unable to meet her gaze.

This is all the answer she needs.
