Tamsin yawned as she crossed the Clubhouse's structurally unsound threshold. On top of a long day of cop stuff she'd been stuck at the office doing paperwork with her morose wolf partner. It was draining, especially because Dyson kept kicking his feet against the interrogation table and making mistakes with his filing.
Dropping her backpack in the hall, Tamsin followed her nose to the kitchen, which smelt delicious, like... 'Grilled cheese, yummm,' she moaned, mouth watering. She was starving. Unfortunately the snack was not anywhere to be seen.
Soft footsteps padded down the stairs. Bo entered the kitchen, looking defeated. 'I made her a grilled cheese sandwich,' she told Tamsin, forgoing a greeting. 'It's her favourite. She didn't even open the door. Just told me to go away. I left the plate on the stairs...'
'She just needs time, babe. A lot's happened to her. The funeral was only yesterday.'
Tamsin took in the other woman's limp hair, too-thin arms, baggy sweatpants and greyish pallor. It had been a week since Tamsin returned home to the Clubhouse to find Bo kneeling on the floor, sobbing over Hale's cold body, clutching a passed-out Kenzi in her lap. Kenzi had barely left her bed in the days since, not even with Bo's desperate cajoling and promises of chocolate chip pancakes and online stiletto shopping. Bo had been running herself ragged with guilt and worry, and it showed.
'When was the last time you fed?' Tamsin asked gently, crossing the kitchen to cup Bo's elbow with her palm.
'Uh...I don't know. Can't remember,' Bo muttered distractedly, avoiding Tamsin's gaze.
Tamsin felt Bo's arm, noticing the coolness of her skin, which usually burned a little hotter than most people.
'You need to feed' Tamsin urged, more firmly now. 'You won't be any good to Kenzi if you're out of juice'.
'Yeah, well I haven't exactly had time to chase chi lately. Besides, I'm not in the mood,' Bo said defensively.
'Comon' succubus, you're a succubus! You've got more libido than an entire dorm of college freshmen,' Tamsin teased playfully, her grin fading as Bo's eyes filled with tears.
'Bo...' Tamsin said softly, her expression growing concerned.
'She hates me! I abandoned her when she needed me, and she hates me for it!' Bo sobbed.
'She doesn't hate you,' Tamsin stated matter-of-factly. 'Yeah, she's had a bitch of a time recently, what with you disappearing and being claimed-human head-hunted and...and Hale...' Tamsin uttered his name softly. 'But she doesn't hate you. You're her sister. She needs time to sort through everything that's happened. That's all.'
'I just wish I could help her,' Bo murmured weakly. 'I've tried everything. I'm so...tired.'
'You so need some chi,' responded Tamsin.
'Yeah, okay. Let's just call the chi-fairy and have her give me a pick-me-up,' Bo sniffed, brushing tears from the dark circles beneath her eyes.
Tamsin rolled her eyes, although her heart beat anxiously. 'How about me?'
'...What?'
'How about you feed off of me?'
'Tamsin...I can't...I don't want to use you' Bo said weakly.
'Pur-lease. Maybe it's me who wants to use YOU. Think of it as...what's it called?...friends with benefits!' Tamsin stated triumphantly.
And then more softly, 'Babe, please take my chi. You need it and I want to give it to you.' The valkyrie slowly slid her arms around Bo's waist, comforting the succubus and pulling her against her own body.
Bo stayed stiff for a moment, her eyes searching Tamsin's, her look pained. 'It's okay' Tamsin whispered, as Bo relaxed and tilted her head so their lips brushed. 'You're okay. I've got you.'
