Hello and Goodbye :)(

The Time Vortex

The TARDIS drifted within the Time Vortex, not really going anywhere. Inside the Time Machine, the mood presented mourning. A man in a brown pin-striped suit leant against a mighty central column, his brown spiky hair all fly-away. A frown occupying his handsome features. His normally excited persona had been put on hold due to his companion's constant moping around. This concerned him, as Rose was usually a very peppy and happy young woman. Lately though, she had been either sitting in the control room her face vacant, or she would lock herself away in her room, where the Doctor would hear her crying, when she had thought she was alone.

The Doctor wasn't accustomed to this behaviour, due to his out- going nature and zest for adventure. He was considering contacting professionals for advice. Captain Jack was always known for cheering Rose up and finding out why she was down. Rose had taken to the Captain immediately; the Doctor had figured that out way back. How could she not, when Jack had everything, looks, intelligence and wit. Rose and Jack had this special bond between them, and as the Doctor contemplated his thoughts, he came to the decision that he would call Jack Harkness.

Cardiff Bay- Wales, Earth

Jack Harkness- Leader of Torchwood Three Cardiff. Back in the 51st Century, Jack would have laughed at the idea of leadership. Transpiring events had lead Jack to join the Time Agency. Jack left the agency after an incident and became a con artist with two years of his memory missing.

Since then, he had met the mysterious time travelling alien under the alias, "Doctor", and his travelling friend Rose Tyler. Over the next few adventures and the great battle with the Daleks, Jack had matured beyond belief.

Stranded in the year 200 100, Jack had had to use his Vortex Manipulator, and landed in the Twentieth Century, as his "trusty" form of Time Travel had then decided to burn out. Over the next hundred years, Jack had forged an alliance with Torchwood, under the condition that he was to work for them. He had become the leader after the massacre of the entire team New Year's Day 2000.

Whilst waiting patiently for The Doctor's return, Jack now had his own team members, whom he had grown to trust over the past six years. Doctor Owen Harper, Toshiko Sato, Ianto Jones and the newest recruit PC Gwen Cooper. There had been Suzie Costello, but things had gotten messy when she tried to kill Gwen, which resulted in her own death.

Lost in his own thoughts, Jack was surprised when Ianto had entered his office claiming a phone call was awaiting him. He liked Ianto; the Welshman had helped capture Myfanwy, Torchwoods pet Pterodactyl, when it had drifted through the rift one year. Jack had been reluctant at first to hire Ianto, but the young man had persuaded him in the end. He prepared an excellent coffee after all.
