Griffin's POV

I sighed as I laid on the large couch in our, no- my lair. For the past few days David and I had barely anything to do but entertain ourselves. All the information I had on the Paladins seemed to be useless as they had changed their tactics and we had hardly any Jumpers to keep tabs on.

Lazily I stretched my arms and arched my back to grab one of the cans of beer on the coffee table. I cursed softly as it was just out of reach.

Stretching some more I, of course, fell of the couch, followed by another string of curses. Grabbing the beer I seated myself back on my previous place and closed my eyes in comfort. Taking a large gulp I let my mind wonder, coming once more to the subject of my thoughts lately. David.

So what if I wanted him around? It didn't mean anything- nothing at all.

A frustrated sigh escaped me as I realized the thinking was futile. Yes, I'm perfectly aware that I'm in denial, and I'd like to stay that way, thanks.

Gah, how on earth did that rookie turn my feelings 180 degrees around since the first time I saw him? I frowned deeply and swallowed down some more beer, choking upon it as I was roughly pulled out of my ponderings by the subject of them.

"Still being a sloth?" The blonde male asked, smirking. He let himself ungraciously fall on the other end of the couch, not caring that my legs were currently positioned there.

"Fuck it David, can't you look out a bit more?" I asked with annoyance.

The blue-eyed Jumper simply shrugged and stretched, popping some of his joints.

"What's with that arrogant smirk on your face?"

"If I say I am the best, that would make me arrogant. But if I say I am not, that would make me a liar..." David replied, the smirk only widened and used a tone which reminded me of one of his worst moments of arrogance. As I looked at him I only wanted to wipe that most annoying smirk of his face, no matter what.

In a moment of utter stupidity I grabbed the blonde's chin tightly and pulled him closer, capturing his lips roughly. I pushed him down on the couch, using his moment of uncertainty to part his lips and slip my tongue between them. However it did not take long for David to recover and tried to gain the dominating position, but I was not letting him. Grabbing his wrists I held them tightly and straddled his hips with my own so he couldn't move, all the while I continued to explore the hot cavern of the blonde.

Breaking the kiss, a smirk of my own appeared as I remembered a saying "I'm not always right, but I'm never wrong!" I certainly was not wrong about wanting David around, especially if we could do things like this more often…
