Sing me to sleep

It had been easy, falling for Luna. She was perfectly imperfect. People called her crazy, they were wrong, Luna was not crazy, Luna was fey. That is the only word that describes her, my Luna. It gives you a sense of magic, beauty and un-uniformity. I think back on all of this now as I sit by her bed, praying for her survival. She was diagnosed with cancer and there was nothing the doctors could do but make it easy and painless. But still I sit here, praying to every god I can think of, wishing for her to live. My Luna, my funny, amazing, quirky, sensational Luna was not going to die, I could not let her! Her breathing was raspy and uneven. I heard her groan, she was awake! "Luna, i'm here, its all going to be ok." I whispered tenderly. "Don't lie to me Frederick Gideon Weasly! I know i'm not going to make it, but I don't mind. 83 years is a long time, Im just glad I spent most of it with you." A tear trickled down my face, I could not believe this was happening! " Don't worry Fred, just sing me to sleep, everlasting sleep." I took a deep breath and swallowed, I knew what she wanted me to sing " When the skies are looking bad my dear and your heart has lost all it's hope, after dawn there will be sunshine, and all the dust will go, skies will clear my darling, i'll wake up with the one I love the most, and in the morning, I'll make you up with some tea and toast" As I finished the verse her breathing slowed down and then stopped, I called for the nurse but it was too late. Too late for my darling Luna.
