She Had Always
One-Shot
Disclaimer: I do not own Sonic the Hedgehog and friends. No copyright intended. I however own the story line, because I made that all up with my brain. In this story all the characters are in human form but they still have their powers and stuff.
She had always went to Java Lava at 8:15 AM to get a cup of coffee. She had always read a book. She didn't say much when her friends went up to talk to her. She was always walking along the beach at sunset, with that whistfull expression on her face. She was always thinking of him. She was always fighting for what she believed in. She was always chasing down Sonic. She was always the one who ended up hurt the most. She was only smiling and laughing, you wouldn't even guess her sorrow. She had always protected those she loved. No matter the cost to her. She had always put him first. She had always loved him. Always.
He always complained when he had to go save her from Eggman. He'd always say too much around his friends. He only fought for the greater good. He would always be ingorant of her. He never thanked her for saving him. He never appreciated her company when they were just friends talking. He would brush off her feelings for him as if they were nothing. He would drag her heart around, he would tease, he would fool her, just for his own amusement. He was always running away from her. He would find relief when she wasn't near. He had always put her last. He would never love her. Never.
And now she is gone. And now he does not find relief when she isn't near. And now he knows what people mean when they say, 'you never know what you have until it's gone'. She had always put him first. She had always tried to save him. Well, she did. In the end she had saved her hero, from the evil Eggman. And as he kneels here, by her grave stone, burring his face in his hands, he cries.
He cries for the loss of a precious rose. He cries for never understanding her love for him. He cries for not putting her first. He cries for always believing that there will always be another day for her to forgive him. For always believing that she'd always be there. He cries for always being ignorant of her. He cries for never loving her the was she had always loved him. He cries for never giving her a chance.
