Hey! Felt like writing Laven, so here's some Laven. It took me a while to actually decide what plot to go with, but I ultimately chose the high school/college AU. This is yaoi, mostly sweet yaoi, but still yaoi. Maybe it will get more intense as the story goes on, but I don't know. I don't know what else to talk about, so enjoy the story! I shouldn't be doing this to myself but enjoy it anyway! :D *P.S. updates will be veeeery slow*
Disclaimers: DGM doesn't belong to me, nor do the characters. :(
There was a lot of pressure on the small freshman today. He sat in the front of the bus, because everyone else sat in the back. His school was going to a university as part of an education program, and it was his class's day to go. The bus was filled with talking and laughter of some of his other classmates; who sat together while he sat alone listening to an album by Nine Inch Nails. Allen didn't make friends very well. It was no surprise either. He was practically a walking list of things to make fun of. White hair, blood red scar, loner...…gay. His life was a joke. Of course, he had a few friends. Who can live their life without at least making one friend, even if it was temporarily? The only problem with his friendship choice is that they were on the internet, and they lived nowhere near him. For example, a few years back, he came across a guy named Narain who lived in India. It was weird because he had started talking to him first. It was a very confusing time for him, but they ended up becoming very close. Even if they've never met in person! Another one was a beautiful Chinese girl by the name of Lenalee. He had accidently contacted her through Skype, which was extremely embarrassing on his part. She answered, surprisingly, and after he apologized for ten minutes, they started having a conversation. She laughed half the time by the way. Thinking of it now, he became friends with them on accident. He sighed just thinking about it. Before long, the bus had made a stop in the school's parking lot. He waited for everyone to get off first, purposely trying to avoid the others. As he stepped off, the teacher was already giving instructions about staying with the group and to respect others and all that jazz. Even though he had no interest in this trip, he took his headphones out to listen to the guide. He wasn't a bad student, and he didn't want to cause attention to himself anyway.
He wasn't particularly impressed by the university, but he somehow enjoyed the walk through something where he's never been. He didn't even know what the person was talking about anymore; his mind had blocked him out hours ago. Eventually, he ran into a door that ultimately said, "Staff Only." What was this, a fast food restaurant? Shrugging it off, he turned away to join the group again. Wait, where was everybody? His head twisted from left to right and saw no sign of his classmates.
"H-hello?" He awkwardly mumbled to the empty hallway. Crap, he got separated! What's even more frustrating is that he doesn't know how long he's been separated! Worried that they might've left without him, he ran through the halls wanting to find an exit. When he finally found one, he busted through the doors, out of breath, and looked around. No one. Breathing heavily, he started running, again, to find his bus. If the bus was still there that is.
"Please still be here, please still be here!" He repeated in his head. This place was huge! How would he find anything on this campus? All of a sudden, he felt a force against his foot, actually almost his whole leg, causing him to fall face first to the ground. The grass made it look soft, but it was hard as a rock. "O-ow," he whimpered bringing his hand up to his head and rubbing it.
"Oh, jeez, I'm sorry, man!" He heard someone say. Right after, he felt a pair of hands grab his shoulders, and he was lifted off the ground. As he was, his head unconditionally turned towards the person helping him. Allen's eyes grew, his face flushed, and his chest felt constrained. "Are you alright?" The man asked. Allen stared in with amazement and bewilderment. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't take his eyes off him. He was just so….captivating. His shaggy, russet colored hair parted to the right side of his face. His striking, viridian eye staring back at him made his heart skip a beat. His muscular structure, that Allen was trapped in, and his smoky, melodic voice caught him in a trance. "Dude, are you ok?" He heard him repeat. Before Allen could go off into la la land, he shot up out of the tantalizing being's arms, and bowed repeatedly.
"I-I'm deeply sorry!" He apologized. "It was my fault. I didn't expect to run into such an attra-UH I mean, um...!" He threw his hood up over his face to hide his embarrassment. "You bloody idiot! For once in your life, pretend you're not socially awkward!" He scolded himself mentally.
"What are you doing?" The man questioned.
"If I can't see you, you can't see me!" He shouted. "Dumbass, retard, uuuuugggghhh!"
"That…..doesn't always work." This white haired kid was confusing him. "Look, I just wanted to know if you were ok." He chuckled. Allen's blush increased, if that was possible. Jesus, his laugh was provocative. Without his consent, Allen's hood was taken off, by none other than the guy Allen couldn't stop staring at. Once it was down, the red head revealed an enchantingly jeweled smile. Also, making Allen's heart completely stop! "No need to hide!" Allen felt like he was about to melt. Wait, no, no! He can't be doing this to himself!
"Uh, yeah, I'm fine, um…." What was he doing again? It was something important; he was pretty sure. His mind went blank. "Uh…..what did I..?"
"You were running like you were in a hurry." He reminded him, seeing that he seemed to have forgotten everything.
"Running? From what?" He shrugged.
"Pssh, I don't know!" Allen tried thinking about what could've been on his mind before he set eyes on the sensuous figure.
"Hmmm, maybe it was-no, not that. Was it-no, Allen, stop it. Don't think of him, think of that one problem you can't seem to remember!…I said stop!" He slouched his head. "It's no use I can't remember." He heard laughing as he glanced upward.
"Then it must've not been that important," He grinned. "I've never seen you on campus before. You new?" And that's when it hit him.
"The bus!" He shouted looking around frantically. "It could've left without me!"
"Huh? Wait, you're in high school?!" Wasn't it obvious? It should've been.
"Uh, yeah." He answered dazed. "What made you think I wasn't?" He point to his head.
"You're hair. It makes you look a lot older!" He explained. "I actually thought you were older than me!"
"Well, exactly how old are you?"
"Eighteen."
"Oh, gosh, no! I'm fifteen!" The older stared flabbergasted.
"Pffshafu, FIFTEEN?!" He yelled. "You're a freshman?! God, I was WAAAAAY off!" This guy was a lot more….eccentric than he first thought him to be. But, he thought that that just made him that much better.
"Um, yeah. Anyway, I need to get to the bus. Do you happen to know where it is?"
"Well, I don't know where your bus is, but I know where the parking lot is."
"That's where it is."
"Oh, then no prob! I know this place like the back of my hand!" He motioned Allen to follow him, and he willingly did.
"Shouldn't you bring your stuff with you?" He inquired.
"Nah. No one in this decade would think about stealing a book."
"Is that what I tripped over?" He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"Yeah. Sorry about that, again. I sort of had a ton of books stacked up on top of each other." He tripped over a stack of books. He couldn't remember the last time he actually had time to read. Not a textbook! An actual novel that had nothing to do with school. As time passed, an awkward silence emerged between them. What felt like hours was really a few minutes. Allen personally resisted the urge to speak. Sure, he didn't like it, but he didn't want to get on the guys nerves. That was the last thing he wanted. "So, are you part of that school that's taking tours around campus?"
"Huh, oh, yeah." He answered awkwardly. "I just got lost."
"It happens sometimes, man!" He said rubbing his head. "I mean, I can see how some people could get lost in this place."
"What, you don't?" Allen wondered keeping up. He shook his head.
"Nope. I know this place by heart, remember?" He reminded chuckling. Allen laughed embarrassedly.
"R-right, sorry." An awkward silence appeared in the two's presence once more. Or, at least, it was an awkward silence for one of them. "Say something, you cunt! You're being more awkward than the silence!" He cleared his throat. "So, uh, what's your name?"
"Huh, oh! The name's Lavi!" He bowed playfully. "Though, some people call me Jr. What about you?"
"Um, I-uh, my name's….Allen…Walker." He answered quietly. Lavi took his hand, resulting in, yet another, flustered Allen.
"Pleasure to meet ya, Allen!"
"Yeah, nice to meet you too." Before another word was spoken, Lavi dramatically pointed to the other side of the lot.
"That's where your bus is!" He announced with a suddenly deepened voice. Which almost made Allen choke by the way. "And, looks like your class is already there. So, good luck!" He waved cheerfully as he jogged away. Allen's hand reached after him, but, of course, he couldn't see due to him facing the other way.
"Th-thank you!" He managed to call out. To his relief, he turned around to say, "Anytime!" And then disappeared from Allen's sight. As he vanished, Allen let out a sigh of pleasure. He stared dreamily at the open space Lavi once belonged to. This was a new feeling; he had never met someone that had made him feel both fluttery and achy at the same time. It almost felt like he was flying with limited air to breathe. And for some reason, he accepted it.
"Mr. Walker!" He flinched. The fact that he had wandered away from the group just seemed to have completely slipped his mind. He turned around quickly to face his teacher.
"I'm sorry!" He apologized. The teacher, however, didn't seem to have accepted his apology.
"I gave everyone one simple task, and that was to stay with the group! You're the only one that disobeyed!" He reprimanded in front of everyone. Allen, not feeling comfortable being on the spot, avoided the other students and stared at the ground.
"I'm sorry. I-I just got….distracted."
"Distracted by dicks." He heard someone comment from the back. Right after, everyone burst into laughter while Allen stood in shock.
"Hey! When I find out who said that, you're getting an afterschool!" He yelled. He turned towards Allen. "I'll talk with you later, Mr. Walker. Everyone back to the bus!"
The rest of the day was pretty much shit. On the way back, some of the kids refused to leave him alone; pestering him and making false assumptions. When they got back, he automatically told he needed to stay after class to explain his actions. Which didn't go so well. Since he had to stay after, he missed his bus so he had to walk. It was bitter cold outside, so the walk was torturous. Needless to say, when he made it back to his apartment, he was relieved. Making his way up the stairs, he scrimmaged through his bag to find the key. After reaching the door, he unlocked it and pushed it open; a creaking sound following. Once inside, he looked around the room. Still no Cross.
"How did he even pass as a legal guardian?" He asked himself as he threw his backpack on the chair. "He's barely here." Not long after he made the comment, he heard barking from the other side of the house, and little pit patters coming down the hall. Sooner than later, a little, golden corgi came jumping towards Allen with an ecstatic smile. Allen bent down, and was attacked by the dog's kisses.
"Hi, Tim!" He greeted with a shrill voice. "Yes, I know, you missed me! You're probably hungry though, right?" The dog continued to bark. "Alright, alright." He walked into the kitchen with Tim following. Opening a cabinet, he grabbed the bag of dog food and filled it in the dog's bowl. He quickly stuck his face in the bowl. He giggled seeing the dog eat. "Ok, what else do I need to do?" He wondered. Searching the room to jog his memory, he laid eyes on his laptop. He stared at it for a minute or two before grabbing it and hopping on the couch.
"Please be on, please be on." He begged staring hopefully into the screen. Not a minute later, a girl popped up on the screen.
"Hey, Allen-kun." She greeted smiling.
"Lenalee, you're on!"
"Um, yeah. What's up?"
"Oh my god, Lenalee, I need someone to talk to!" He looked at her hopefully. He didn't know if she was particularly busy, or if this was a bad time. Or maybe she just didn't care. He hoped it was none of the above.
"Uh, yeah! I can talk! What about?"
"Guys. Well, one guy in particular."
"Ok," She practically laughed. "I'm all ears. Wait, does that mean you met someone?"
"Uh….technically yes?" Allen said under his breath. On the other side of the screen, Lenalee was clapping like a giddy school girl.
"Ok, start it from the very beginning! Don't skip any details!" She ordered. Allen chuckled bashfully. Lenalee was his go to whenever he needed to talk about something of this topic. Like the time he and Cross moved into their current residence. (They were forced to because of debt.) While they were unpacking, one of the neighbors stopped by to welcome them to their trashy apartment. No, he literally said the apartment was trash. Perhaps Allen was too distracted by his looks to actually pay attention to what he said. Anyway, the moment he left, he went straight for his laptop to tell his Asian friend about it. However, that just so happened to be one of the most embarrassing moments of his life, because that specific neighbor heard the whole conversation. Skyping in the middle of the stairway might've not been the best idea. But, he's gotten over him since then. However, he'll occasionally invite him over to play poker with him and his friends. To make things fair, he only agrees when he's broke.
Allen settled himself before he started babbling. Things like adjusting the screen and stuff.
"Ok, so, today my class went to a university for an educational program or something."
"That's always fun." He heard her comment sarcastically.
"And, we were supposed to stay with the group so that we wouldn't get lost-"
"You got lost?"
"I got lost." They both laughed before he continued. "Yeah, and, I didn't know when exactly I got separated so I thought maybe they left already."
"Well, that's not good."
"No, it's not! So, I ran outside to see if I could find the bus or something like that. Keep in mind I had no idea what I was doing." He said putting emphasis on the word no.
"Run forest run."
"Lenalee, really?" She chuckled.
"I'm sorry; I'm just imagining you running and I thought of those words and…yeah, sorry. Continue." He sighed.
"Ok, anyway, as I was running, I tripped and fell."
"Sounds like you had a great day."
"Shut up." He mumbled giggling. "Anyway, I heard someone ask if I was ok, and he helped me up." Allen paused when he saw Lenalee fangirling. "You ok there, Lenalee?" He asked laughing.
"No, no, I just know it's getting to a good part."
"Lenalee, this isn't a fanfiction."
"I know, I know, just continue. So, this guy helped you up, like a gentlemen, and then…?"
"Right, right, so I look at this guy and the first thing I think is, "god damn."" Lenalee fell backwards, laughing at how dramatic he was being. "It's true!"
"No, it's the way you were doing it! Your face got all serious and your hands were just everywhere!" He turned away from the camera, ignoring Lenalee's boisterous laughter. "Oh come on, you know I'm kidding." She insisted. "Sooooo, what did he look like? Was he cute?" He scratched his cheek in a cute, nervous sort of way.
"He was, um, well, I found him attractive."
"Ok, you're not giving me anything." She groaned. "How 'bout this: on a scale from 1 to 10, how hot is he? 10 being the hottest."
"12 out of 10."
"He broke the scale. He must be pretty hot."
"You have no idea."
"Ok, ok, ok, descriptions! Give me something!" She said making hand motions towards herself.
"Alright, chill!" He sorted his thoughts. What should he mention first? He'll just go with it. "He was really tall, had red hair, his skin was a tan-ish, I could only see one of his eyes, but it was, like this vibrant green!" Crap, he was getting excited just describing him. "He was very broad in, like, the upper torso area, and he had this smile that just….ugh! I can't describe it! His laugh too!" Allen stopped when a sudden thought came to mind. "I think it was mainly how he acted that really got to me. Like, of course he was hot, but then it he started talking. Like, he didn't act like I thought he would act."
"Aaww that's so cute!" Lenalee squealed. "People like you are the reasons why I wish I were allowed to date. Brother, why?!"
"He's just overprotective, Lenalee."
"YOU don't live with him!" She shouted. After she said that, Allen heard a muffled sentence in the background. Then the sound of Lenalee groaning. "Got to go, zai jian, Allen!"
"Bye, Lenalee!" With one last wave, she disappeared from the screen. Allen sighed as he closed the computer. After a few minutes, he turned his head to see the corgi staring back at him. "Don't judge me." He told the dog before leaving its presence.
Well, that only took me forever! Ok, first chapter's done, told you it was going to be slow. But, don't worry! I have so many cute ideas planned. ^w^ So, tell me what you think! It helps me a lot. :) Ok, bye! Thanks for reading!
