"Welcome back." a voice said behind him as he waked down the dull, crowded hallway.
"Hey, Scully, I have a new case for us to-"
"Mulder, you didn't even walk into your office yet and you already offered me a case."
Mulder looked at her with his eyes, like a child at the candy store. His eyes were saying,
"Please, please! It's my first day back on the job. C'mon, it can't too bad!"
"All right, Mulder" she said, surrendering to him, "What's the case about, anyway?"
They walked into the office and he looked completely surprised and his jaw nearly touched the floor.
"This place looks different." he accused.
"Um, it's clean." Scully said with a grin on her face.
Mulder sat down in his chair and opened up the manila folder. You could tell by the look on his face he was jubilant to be back at the bureau, especially with the X-Files division. Mulder missed his job, his life's work and especially the one and only Scully, who he longed to see.
"Yesterday, I received a phone call from the N.Y.P.D. asking for our help. They contacted me because they thought it was an X-File."
"Go on" she commanded.
"On October 17, a woman was found dead along 43 Street, in New York City, a Michelle Rodriguez they believe. Above her body was the word 'Pride' written in her own blood. Every bone in her body was crushed with a sledge hammer found 10 yards away from the body." Before he could go on, Scully interrupted.
"Mulder there is no case here; it is just a religious motivated murderer, killing people based on the 7 deadly sins!" Mulder had a smile on his face, knowing she was about to say that. Scully walked out of the room, having coffee in her mind, wanting it so badly she would kill anyone in her way.
"Do you remember Gibson Praise, Scully?" he asked. Somehow she dragged herself in and answered the question.
"Yes, Mulder, I remember Gibson Praise." He looked in the manila folder, once again, trying to find a profile.
"Well, Detective Hanson of the N.Y.P.D. recommended a gifted young girl who may or may not help us. She has the ability to read a person's mind and has recurring visions."
"Let me get this straight, the murders based upon the 7 deadly sins isn't the X-File, but the girl is."
He nodded his head and agreed with Scully.
"Who is this girl, anyway?" she questioned.
"Her name is Sarah Palmero, age 15; she lives with her adoptive guardian, Lucy LaSalle in Manhattan."
"Are you sure she will help or will this just be a waste of time?"
"I'll convince her one way or another."
