A/N: Hey guys! I got the idea for this one night when I was trying to sleep. Not wanting to let the idea slip from my mind, I got up and started writing. Two hours and a few strange looks from my mother later, this was born. I am quite proud of this one and I hope you guys enjoy! Don't forget to review, favorite and follow! Until next time... Kisses, -H
Emily Fields sat in the backseat of her family's Volvo. Once again, her father has been relocated. This time, it is a military base in Rosewood, Pennsylvania. The town is so small that you couldn't even find it on a map.
Now, Emily was used to moving around. This time was different though. Her family had lived in California, the place that her father was last stationed, for five straight years. She had friends in California. It was the only place that she could keep the memories she had shared with her ex-girlfriend, Hanna, alive. Hanna had moved away three years prior. She just left, without saying goodbye and without telling Emily where she was moving. After that, Hanna changed her number, and that was it. Emily never heard from her again. And to think, she actually fell in love with Hanna, and she thought that Hanna loved her too. She still is in love with her, she just doesn't like to admit it to herself.
They are five minutes from the new house, rather, the place they will be staying. Her father just happens to know some people who live in Rosewood who are willing to let them stay in their house with them.
Peter and Veronica Hastings are both top-notch lawyers who have a big house on a big piece of land. They have two daughters, but they still have the space for their friends to stay.
They pull into the circular driveway of an old Victorian house that looks like it was built in the early 1900's. As Emily steps out of the car–which is way too old to fit the style of the family that lives here–she gapes at the huge house with its iron gates and giant windows.
"Emmy, sweetie, could you grab that bag and carry it in?" Her father asks, lugging three heavy bags to the front door and ringing the bell.
"Sure, no problem." She mutters, grabbing the bag and making her way to the door, passing a midnight black Mercedes Benz on her way.
When she gets to the door, she sees an older looking woman greeting them with a smile.
"Hello! I'm so glad that you made the trip safely! Come on in, you guys must be awfully tired." The woman says, stepping out of the way and leading them towards a set of stairs.
"Okay, you guys can set your bags in your rooms, and then come down to meet the rest of the family." She says, directing them to their rooms.
"Since your parents are taking the only guest room, you will have to share with our daughter, Spencer." She says pointing to a room with a big S on the door.
"Make yourself at home, she is very welcoming and is always willing to share."
Emily guesses that this must be Veronica Hastings and she walks to the room, giving her a smile as she does so.
When she walks into the room, she sees a very neatly made bed and a very large window. The next thing to catch her eye is the bookcase, packed full of all the classics, like The Scarlet Letter, Romeo and Juliet, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Emily also notices a desk with a monitor and a bunch of picture frames on it. She sets her bags by the bed, and makes her way out of the room and down the stairs.
The stairs lead right into the living room, which then leads into the kitchen. She walks into the living room to see a younger woman who she guesses to be the older daughter, judging by the ring on her left hand.
"Oh! Emily, this is my oldest daughter, Melissa. Andthis," she says, pointing to a man who has just emerged from the kitchen, "Is my husband, Peter."
"Nice to meet you both." Emily says, smiling politely and shifting uncomfortably.
"Spencer should be home very soon. She was studying with some friends at the library." Veronica says, looking at her very expensive watch.
As if on cue, a younger looking version of Melissa rushes through the back door.
"I'm so sorry! I lost track of time and made Aria drive me home ASAP." She says, looking flustered.
"Oh that's quite alright dear, we were just getting our guests settled." The older woman says with a smile.
"Oh good. Hi! I'm Spencer, and you must be Emily; my new roommate." She says, making her way over to Emily and offering her had to shake.
"That's me." Emily says, taking Spencer's hand and shaking it.
"Well, I'm looking forward to having someone to keep me company while I am at home." Spencer says, smiling at Emily.
Emily smiles back slightly and makes her way over to the sofa, sitting down.
"Alright! To celebrate our guests staying with us, I thought we could all go out to Rive Gouche and have dinner." Veronica suggests, clapping her hands together excitedly.
"That sounds wonderful." Pam, Emily's mother, says from her place at the bottom of the staircase.
"Yeah, it does. Hey, mom, could I invite Hanna and Aria? I would really like for Emily to meet them." Spencer asks.
"Why not? The more the merrier right?" Her mother says cheerily.
"Great, it's settled. We can leave in a few hours." Peter says, walking out of the room and into a hallway.
"Okay then. Well, I have to run a few errands, I will be back soon." Veronica says, grabbing her purse and heading out the door.
"I'll go with you!" Melissa calls, jumping up and running after her mother.
"Well, your father and I are going to go lie down for a while. We will see you guys in a bit." Pam says, walking up the stairs to the room and closing the door behind her.
"And then there were two." Spencer says.
Emily chuckles at this, then abruptly stops. She just thought of something. Something really crazy. She looks up at Spencer and asks, "What is your friend, Hanna's, last name?"
"Um, it's Marin. Why?" She asks, confused.
"Oh. My. God." She says to herself. "I can't believe this. It's really her."
"Hey, do you know Hanna or something?" Spencer asks, sounding surprised.
"Yeah, she is my ex-girlfriend." Emily says absently.
"Wait, you're the mystery girl that Hanna has been pining over for the past three years? Whoa." Spencer says, her jaw dropping.
"Wait, rewind. She has been pining over me? Why didn't she call me?!" This is starting to piss Emily off.
"She always said that it would be too hard to hear your voice without being able to see you or touch you." Spencer says her eyes softening.
"God, I miss her so much." Emily says putting her face in her hands.
"I know just the thing!" Spencer says, grabbing her phone and dialing a number.
"Hey Han. You need to come over to mine as soon as possible. I have a surprise for you!"
"No, I am not going to tell you what it is."
"Um, tell Aria that I love her and that I will take her out to dinner tomorrow."
"No! Don't give her the–hey baby!"
"I know, I'm sorry. It was sort of a last minute thing."
"I will make it up to you tomorrow. I promise."
"I love you!"
"Okay, see you soon, love."
"There! Hanna is on her way over here right now and you two will see each other and then you will live happily ever after!" Spencer says plopping down on the couch next to Emily. "And this better work because I am so totally in the dog house with Aria, and that is not a good place to be with her."
"Wait, who is Aria again? I heard you mention her earlier." Emily asks, with a curious expression.
"Oh, Aria is my girlfriend. She's like my Hanna." Spencer says, grinning like mad at the thought of her true love.
"Well, I am excited to meet her." Emily states.
"Oh yeah, you two will get along great."
"Okay! What's my–." Hanna says, bursting through the door and stopping dead in her tracks, causing Aria to run into her.
"Hanna, what the hell?" Aria says, looking at her confused.
"Em? Is that really you?" She ask in disbelief.
"Yeah, it's really me, Han." Emily says, getting up and walking over to Hanna.
Hanna wraps her arms around Emily and pulls her into a kiss full of the love that they have felt for each other over the years.
"God, I missed you! I will never leave you again. I'm so sorry for not saying good bye and for not calling you." Hanna cries, burying her face in Emily's hair.
"It's okay. I love you and you are here now. That is all that matters." Emily says running her hand through Hanna's blonde hair.
"I love you too Em. I should have said it earlier."
"Me too, Han. Me too."
"Oh my god! I am going to die from cuteness!" Aria cries from her place next to spencer on the couch.
"Ar, shhh! They are in the middle of a moment!" Spencer says, clapping a hand over Aria's mouth to keep her quiet.
"Well, not anymore thanks to you loud mouths!" Hanna says through gritted teeth, then looks over and smiles at them.
"Sorry, you can go on." Aria muffles out, placing her own hands over Spencer's.
"It's okay. All I want to know is if we are back together or not." Hanna says looking at Emily hopefully.
"Oh, definitely. I am never letting you go again." Emily declares, kissing Hanna again.
"I love you Em."
"I love you too Han."
And they lived happily ever after.
