MY COUNTRY, AMERICA
A little poem I wrote for Independence Day. It's simple, but it speaks volumes. I'm a born and raised American, but as much as I love my country, my true allegiance lies with God. I put this under "Bible", because I couldn't find any other appropriate category. Don't even think about stealing this, and keep your flames to yourself. Thank you very much, and God bless.

America—
My noble country
The land that holds my heart
Though wicked men corrupt you,
The grace of God still shines on you.
America—
A land above lands
The land where I was born
Men have fought and died for you
Don't let their blood be spilt in vain.
America—
A place of promise
Of opportunity
But please don't ever forget,
You are one nation under God.
America—
Your power is great
Yet you would have perished
Were it not for God's mercy
It is through Him that you are spared.
America—
Turn your heart to God
He will not forsake you
Yet you must not forsake Him
For without Him, you are nothing.
