That Awkward Moment When You Get Felt Up In Front Of Your Father-In-Law
"And if anyone loses their shield to an idiot kid on a scavenger hunt, you're out of my unit" Voight states gruffly before heading back into his office following their latest briefing on the murder case they've been working all week. It's about a seriously as Voight ever takes the daily briefing memos the Ivory Tower sends through. Everyone but Intelligence has a meeting each morning for these kinds of things, Voight banned his unit claiming it was a waster of their time and pins the daily email to the coffee machine instead.
Every year the local high schools have a scavenger hunt, one that usually included half a dozen petty thefts like shoplifting or trespassing in abandoned buildings. The last couple of years, the lists have included stealing from first responders, stethoscopes from paramedics, axes from firefighters and this year, shields from the police. Although 90% of the list is pretty harmless, its become a major inconvenience that police have been trying to shut down.
When the door to Voight's office closes, Erin gets up from her desk and heads towards the break room.
"Your baby is making me fat" She grumbles to Jay as she walks past his desk, Antonio is perched on the edge of it, as he and Jay go over an email from another district about their victim.
"Don't" Jay says quietly to Antonio, who was about to say something to Erin, "You'll make it worse."
"She barely even looks pregnant, never mind seven months pregnant" Antonio tells Jay went Erin is out of the room. Jay shrugs in response, he's clearly had this argument with Erin one too many times.
A few hours later, Jay and Voight were on their way back from a new crime scene when Jay's phone starts beeping non-stop.
"Erin?" Voight asks as Jay grins at his phone.
"She's hungry" Jay replies "The baby wants a burger."
Seconds later, Voights phone starts beeping just like Jay's had done.
"My grandchild wants a chocolate milkshake" Voight states, "She knows exactly how to get her way, just like Camille"
Ten minutes later, they're standing at the counter of Erin's favourite burger place waiting for their order, when Jay feels the hand grab his arse.
"I will arrest you, don't even try it" Jay states as the teenage girl makes a not subtle grab for his shield. Voight turns to face the girl and notices the security tags still on the fabric spilling out of the girls bag.
"I am arresting you" Voight states, pulling the cuffs from his hip, he cuffs the girl whose about to start crying as Voight recites her Miranda rights.
When the get back to the station, Voight takes the girl to booking while Jay takes lunch to his very-impatient wife.
"35 text messages" Jay states, holding the paper bag in front of her. "35."
"Where's Voight?" Erin asks, completely ignoring his displeasure at receiving all her messages demanding food.
"Booking" Jay replies, not really wanting to tell his wife about a teenager grabbing his arse.
Voight stomps up the stairs minutes later, leaving drinks on everyone's desks.
"You were on the lunch run, who could you possibly have arrested?" Erin asks as he hands over her milkshake.
"The girl feeling up your husband" Voight replies.
