Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto!
A/N: Can you guess who the guy is? If people find this interesting I might add another chapter to it just to answer questions and tie up lose ends. Makes sure to review!
You hold the answer deep within your own mind
Consciously, you've forgotten it
That's the way the human mind works
Whenever something is too unpleasant
Too shameful for us to entertain, we reject it
We erase it from our memory
But the imprint is always there Understanding, Evanesence
"Please, let me go..."
"No."
A gasp and blue eyes looked up into his. Those eyes looked like a deep caught in headlights. It was the look of fear, lust, and love. His eyes, however, seemed to darken. Dominance, lust, anger, and...love. His body pushed against her own, backing her into a wall and trapping her. Hands rested beside her head preventing escape.
"Stop..."
"You will always be mine."
"But Shikamaru-"
"Don't say his name!"
His raised voice startled her. Of course she had heard him raise his voice before, plently of times in the mist of his emotions but it had never been directed towards her. She had never deserved it until this moment.
"N-"
"No matter what, you will always be connected to me Ino."
He sounded almost tired, he looked at her with a look at obviously wanted her to understand him. She couldn't however, she didn't want too. Not anymore, he didn't have that right after...Ino's eyes begun to water, she did know his words were true however. She would never truely be Shikamaru's no matter how much she told him, everyone else, and herself that she did.
"Why him?" His tone had quieted into a whisper, his forhead was resting against the wall she was against lips brushing lightly against her ear.
His hair tickled her forehead but this was not the situation to laugh. The question was serious and for a long moment she, herself, did not know the answer. Finally she responded, equally as quiet as the man before her.
"Because he was there...and you weren't."
Hands pressed against his chest pushing him away. He didn't stop her anymore, simply watching as she turned her back to him, wrapping her arms around her thin form as though trying to protect herself from something.
"I don't want to see you again."
He took a sharp intake of breath, coming up behind her he rested his hands upon her shoulders causing her to tense. Leaning forword his lips brushed against her ear once more.
"You will always be connected to me."
Then he was gone and it started to rain as though reflecting her inner feelings. Slowly she made her way home, returning completely soaked. Her clothes and hair dripped water onto the floor but she cared little. The door closed quietly behind her. Shikamaru would be sleep she knew and was grateful for it. She needed this time to herself. The blond slid down the door, drawing her knees up to her chest, her eyes stared blankly at the floor.
Deep down she knew he was right.
