And The Flowers Grew..

It was raining the day he finally came to visit me.
"How fitting" I heard him say, As he gazed at
The flowers that marked the place where I lay.
He knelt and placed a small bouquet on my cold
And little graveside. He was thinking of that
Terrible day when all of his friends had died.

Getting late, he left me to go back to his home.
And his wife.

That isn't so. Even with all your books and knowledge

Of a life that we could share. And you'll never
Know the peace I felt just knowing you were there.
