Today began as a horrible day. It started off this morning when I woke up to find not only my partner, but my kitchen covered in half made coffee. Then, to make things worse, when I went to shower, I discovered that the door to the bathroom was so broken that it wouldn't even close. I have a clear shower curtain, so I wasn't about to let Mulder roam the apartment while I showered.
As if it wasn't embarrassing enough to have to tell Mulder that I'd have to blindfold him while I showered, I then discovered that, things had crept up on me and I needed Mulder to do something big for me. That had to be the worst part of the day. I'd never, ever before asked Mulder to do what I was about to.
"Mulder. Could you do me a little itty bitty favor?" I sauntered up to Mulder, clad in only my bathrobe. Without waiting for an acknowledgment, I began to toy with the gray t-shirt that Mulder had changed into when he threw his first shirt into the wash.
"Sure Scully. What do you need me to do?"
"I need you to go to the store and buy me some.." raised myself up on tiptoes and whispered the final part in his ear. Mulder began swallowing convulsively.
"Okay Scully. I'll be back soon." Quickly I kissed Mulder and ran into the kitchen. He left a few minutes later.
Despite how well my request had been taken, I still couldn't believe that I'd just asked my partner of nearly eight years and boyfriend of six months to go and buy me feminine supplies. Of course I knew that he would do just about anything that I ask him to, but still.
Time seemed to move slowly as I opened up the fridge and pulled out supplies to make a huge, delectable breakfast for Mulder and myself. We deserved it after the stressful week we'd had. After what felt like hours, Mulder slowly walked through the threshold to the kitchen, set a plastic bag down on the table, and presented me to me the biggest, most beautiful emerald I've ever seen. As Mulder went down on one knee, I thought to myself that maybe the day hadn't been so bad after all.
Okay, So It wasn't Pulitzer worthy. Sheesh. I wrote it up in a hour.
