"She won't remember."
"Yes, she will."
"It's been 10,000 years, Dido."
"You're on Nina's side, aren't you?"
"Yes."
"Hmph. We will see. When the girl does remember, I will laugh in your faces. She is more powerful than we expected, isn't she?"
There was silence.
"Isn't she?"
"Yes, Papa."
"Than she will remember, won't she?"
"No, Papa."
"Well, I will admit one thing. This is going to be a long mission. A very long mission, indeed."

Chapter One
"Seventy-two."
"Abigail. 6 eight times."
"Forty-eight."
"Tomoyo. 12 thirteen times."
"One hundred fifty-six."
"Li. 12 twelve times."
"One hundred forty-four?"
"Good. Sakura. 5 four times."
~Someone's coming. I can feel it~
"Sakura?"
~Someone important. I know it! Something's going to happen soon, and I can't do anything about it. I have to tell Kero. I hate it when I get those strange feelings. Oh! Sakura, you're just baka.~
"Sakura Avalon!"
Sakura stood up in her chair, scared out of her wits. Giggles erupted across the classroom. "I'm sorry, Miss McKenzie. I was, just, uh, thinking. To myself."
"Well, Please 'think' somewhere else next time. What is 5 four times?"
"Well, it's uh—"
RRRRRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG
~Saved by the bell!~
"Miss Avalon, we will continue our discussion later. Class dismissed." As Miss McKenzie gathered her things, Tomoyo approached Sakura's desk.
"Well now. Someone was daydreaming."
~I NEED to talk to Kero!~
Tomoyo cleared her throat.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. That would have been me. I dunno, Tomoyo, something's gotten into me the last few days. I've been feeling like something big is going to happen."
"Could it be a Card?"
"No. I'm getting no sense of Cards at all. Something…else. Something---I hate to say it---more important."
"What could be more important than a Card?"
Sakura jumped at Li's voice. He always made entrances that way, and she really did not love it all that much. "Oh! Hi, Li. Nothing, I guess--- well, both of you come over at four, okay? I'll tell ya. I'm telling Kero about it then, too."
Her two friends nodded an 'AOK', waving and disappearing out the door. Sakura finished packing and walked by Miss McKenzie's desk.
"Good-bye, Sakura."
"Bye Miss McKenzie. See you tomorrow." Sakura waved, rolling her eyes.
"And Sakura?" There was an odd hint of excitement in Miss McKenzie's voice.
"Yes?"
"Be careful. Strange things can happen when you get off track."
"Oh. All---all right." Sakura nodded in confusion and awe and took off for home, deep in thought.
She was right. Something was going to happen.
