"Edward, will you please tell me where we're going?" I was blindfolded in the Volvo. Like always, Edward's ideas were always surprises.
"Were almost their, love. You look so funny like that. I wish you could see yourself." He chortled. Of course. Just like my other looks. Haystack hair, sexy motorcycle jacket, and now anger under the blindfold. Whatever.
We pulled to a stop, and before I could say anything, the blindfold was off. We were on the side of a valley. Was I imagining this, or was he so careful to bring me here with his vampire speed? It was all a mystery.
"This is it. I hope you like it. I haven't gone here in ages." He smiled at me wryly.
"Yes, it's beautiful. And is that a house?" I pointed off to a log cabin looking building. "Why? Why, Edward. This was all so sudden, and I don't even know the purpose!" his face got serious again. He looked at the ground and then into my eyes.
"Bella. Listen to me. If you would like to leave after I tell you, I would be happy." He let out another long breath. "Since time has past, Carlisle and Esme, and even Alice are starting to think keeping you human is a good idea. They believe I will loose attraction. Yet, their fighting me makes me want you like us so much more. There are pros and cons to this situation. Mortality; the smell, the clumsiness, the warmth of your body. Immortality; our boundaries are endless, and we spend even more time together, and you bill be stronger than me."
His voice was even, but with worry and concern. I knew where this was going, and it wouldn't be pretty.
"Anyways, this is an offer. I can change you now, and we go back to our house to face Carlisle. Or, we leave now, and wait." He reasoned.
I took a breath, and tried to look into his eyes. "Yes, I want to get this over with, Edward. I'm just surprised. Hey- what do you mean by going home to face Carlisle?"
"I was worried you would ask that. Well, I kind of snuck away. It wasn't easy either. I have to keep changing decisions so Alice won't figure out. She isn't happy at all." He explained, and I shook my head. He always played by the rules, but in the most crucial of times, he breaks them? Gosh.
"That house down there is where it will take place. There isn't anything to hear us, and it is abandoned."
"Okay, take me down." I sighed. Before I could blink, we I was flying on Edwards back for what might be the last time.
