Title: The Belt

Summary: In the MMPR episode Yolks on You, just why did Tommy have Jason's belt? Jason/Tommy, one-shot

Disclaimer: None of the familiar characters or places are mine. They belong to Saban Brands.

Note: I had made it from the upset stage to the sulking stage after losing my flash drive. I had every intention of a good, long sulk. Then a friend of mine who doesn't even write fanfiction informed me that a good writer doesn't let something like that stop them. She said that as an English major it was something she should know. No idea if I really agree, but she quite literally poked me with the pencil she was using until I agreed to write something. I'm just not ready to get back to Five Years yet, but now I'm thinking it may be sooner rather than later. For now this is what I came up with. I re-watched this episode recently. My first thought when Tommy said he forgot their belts was to wonder just why he had Jason's belt in the first place. So this little thing was born from the poking. Please review and let me know what you think

"Oh man, I forgot our belts!" Tommy said.

Despite Jason's reassurances, the Green Ranger insisted that they had to have their belts for the show. He went to go get them.

Awhile later a sudden thought occurred to Kim.

"Jase, why does Tommy have your belt?" She asked.

The Red Ranger paused. He and Tommy hadn't told the other Rangers that they were together yet. He knew that the Pink Ranger had a thing for the Green. So, there was no way he was confessing to his relationship with Tommy without the Green Ranger there to suffer Kim's wrath right along with him. But how to deflect this for now? The perfect idea occurred to him, one that Kim would easily believe.

"After school yesterday Tommy and I went to the park to run through some katas and stuff. It was a nice day so we wanted to work out outside. Afterwards we went to his place to work on homework. My belt fell out of my bag when I put my books away. He called me when he realized I left it. He was supposed to bring it with him, but you know Tommy. He forgets easily," Jason said.

'Sorry man.' the Red Ranger thought.

It really wasn't nice to use his boyfriend's forgetfulness as an explanation, but right now it suited his purpose. Besides, if Kim accepted the story Tommy would never know about it.

"Boys," Kim said with a smile and shake of her head.

Part of the story was true. They had worked out at the park and then go back to Tommy's with the aim of working on homework. It was just that said homework was ignored in favor of other…pursuits shall we say. It was said other pursuits that resulted in Jason's belt ending up on Tommy's bedroom floor…along with his shirt…and the Green ranger's shirt….

Jason shook his head to end that line of thought right where it was. He didn't need the distraction right now of remembering the things he and Tommy had done the day before. They weren't ready for actual sex yet, but that didn't mean there weren't plenty of other things to try. The Red Ranger smiled before he looked around. The smile turned into a frown. Something wasn't right. Tommy should be back by now. Jason knew there was trouble when Kim voiced that same opinion a few minutes later.

'I really hate Rita.' Jason thought in annoyance.

So much for the show.
