"OI! Get back here!" Speedy, red haired and leader of the Teen Titans, laughed as he watched Red X chase after a young thief wearing a long black trench coat and trilby hat that had just stolen his belt. It was quite impressive, really, how the youth had stolen the belt and was half way across the roof tops before the other thief had realised. Then again, who was he to call him a youth? He was only fifteen.... but the boy was boy more than nine, ten at a push.

With a sigh, he vaulted down to land in front of the boy with the hat and.... the boy vaulted over him and fell down the side of the building, using unseen crevices and flag poles to control his descent. With a quick, cocky wave, the boy leapt onto HIS bike and took off, leaving nothing but laughter in his wake. Speedy's eyes widened and he began to curse. Starfire landed behind him with the others not far behind.

"Speedy? What is the matter?"

"That nine-year old thief nicked my bike!"

"You have a trace on it, mate, and loads others."

"That's not the point, Cy! The point is that he nicked me bike!"

"No I didn't! I borrowed it for a while. It's back down there." A voice said from behind them all. They wheeled round, to see the Hat-Boy, as they had taken to calling him, standing there.

"And I ain't nine. I'm fourteen." All the Titans but Raven burst into laughter.

"'Course you are, mate." Said Cyborg jollily.

"He's telling the truth." Said Raven. The Hat-Boys posture instantly turned defensive.

"I advise you to stay out of my mind. It ain't nice in there." Eyebrows were raised, and weapons started. "Woah! Calm down. I was only warning her. It's true, honest! I've been through hell and back, literally. Your daddy ain't nice, Raven. I've also been to the closest you can get to heaven. Azarath is nice- they didn't hate me for what I have to do to survive."

The weapons were lowered slowly as Speedy made the motion to relax. He walked slowly forwards and Hat-Boy stepped back.

"I think I know who you are. You used to be Robin- Batman's sidekick." The boy gave a sharp bark of laughter.

"Nice ta know you remember me, Speedy. Pity that Batman lost me to Catwoman, we coulda been good friends. And yes, I used to be Robin. I'm Ocicat now. Catwoman was nicer to me than Batman ever was. She wasn't distant and never ignored me. She even to intrest in what I liked and how my school work was going! She was- and is- like a mother. She helped heal the hole in me that had appeared when my parents were murdered. She helped my recovery, not hindered it like HE had."

"But-"

"Now, now, Speedy. Leave my boy alone. Run along home to Green Arrow now, and be a good boy, hmm?" Catwoman appeared beside Ocicat, running a hand along his head and down his cheek. "My son and I will be leaving now- oh, and let the Justice League know that they are welcome for my help. Come along now."

"Bye bye Speedy."

With a small wave, Ocicat leapt after Catwoman with a whoop of joy. Speedy watched them leave with a sad look on his face.

"Yes... then we could have been great friends. Now, I'm not so sure..."

What do you think? Not entirely sure if I will continue this, it may remain as a stand-alone. Depends on what reviews I get.

If you were confused- ages ago (like, when he was ten or eleven) Batman was fighting with Catwoman and she ran off with Ocicat- or Robin as he was then. She showed him more affection than Batman ever had and he chose to remain with and then join Catwoman, becoming Ocicat.

So, R&R please!

And Ocicat is an actual type of cat! Here's a link:
