Here we go!
Lilly Rush sat on the cold tiled bathroom floor sobbing. She had been working a rape/homicide case involving an 8-year-old girl, and it was eating her up inside.
Earlier:
She had been looking through the box, when she saw the photograph. The little girl had blue eyes and glossy blonde hair that reminded Lilly of herself at that age. She had almost missed it because it was stuck to the back of the suspect list, but when she turned the sheet over she turned white as a ghost. It was Scotty that finally broke the silence, when he noticed that Lilly's normally creamy complection had turned an ivory white. He asked "Lil? You alright?" And when she looked up, there were tears in her eyes. She got up and ran out of the room and into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
It was sometime after that, that Lilly realized she had fallen asleep in the bathroom. She could hear someone beating on the bathroom door. It was Scotty. She unlocked the stall she had ran into and looked into the mirror. Her mascara had run down her cheeks and her eyes were red from the heavy crying she had done. She was just a complete mess!
As she looked over herself she realized that she was tired of everyone always thinking that she was the strong and fearless Lilly Rush. She wasn't! She just wished that someone could understand. She had let her walls down one time and she ended up getting hurt even more. She couldn't take it anymore! She was lonely and weak. She wanted someone who would stay with her even when things got tough. Someone who she could go home to at night and show her true self to.
Suddenly, she realized that Scotty was still beating on the door and threatening that he would break it down unless she opened up. SCOTTY! That was it! Scotty was always there when she needed someone to talk to. Always ready to listen and never ran away when she told him her secrets. She always new that she and Scotty had something together, but never really thought about anything further than a friendship. But then she realized that she actually, really liked him, more than just a friend. She thought back to the many times, Scotty had offered her a ride home and all the times that she had caught him sneaking looks at her.
So she cleaned up her face and fixed her hair before checking her watch. 12:45 She realized that she had been locked in the bathroom for 2 hours now and that everyone should have already been gone by now. Yet Scotty had stayed, waiting for her. So once more she checked her reflection before moving to the bolted door and unlocking it. She pulled the door open to reveil a worried and concerned Scotty. As she emerged from the bathroom she looked up into Scotty's big brown eyes and lost control of herself.
She jumped into his arms and was accepted immediatly. She could feel him wrap his arms around her waist and pull her closer to him, and she threw her arms around his neck. Soon enough she could feel his warm lips upon hers requesting entrance. She gladly let him in and the kiss deepened. As they kissed the world around Lilly seemed to spin, wildly and out of control. But for some reason she felt complete. For the first time, in a LONG time, she actually felt happy. He and she finally broke apart, when they realized that they needed to breath, but Lilly stayed in Scotty's arms. She wouldn't even dare to ruin the moment.
And for the first time that day, in fact that month, Lilly smiled.
