Tell Me More: A LOST FanFic

Chapter 1: Whistle While you Work

How Sawyer was able to last on this Island that long, was anyone's mystery. He liked to be in the privacy of his own thoughts, not in the wake of others. However, if he wanted to survive with these lunatics, he'd have to suck it up. Looking out at the jungle he decided that the only place to be quiet for a millisecond was deep in the trees. With gun in hand and a full bottle of water, Sawyer set off.
Sawyer walked and whistled happily, enjoying the aloneness. To tell the truth he felt less cranky. Whistling while he worked reminded him of that old classic, Snow White, was it? He kicked a small stone and it flew downhill…wait? There was no downhill in the middle of an island jungle. Looking down he saw a chasm. No, this was way too short. It was a hatch. A hatch in the middle of the jungle! Who would've assumed?
His first thought was, how the heck did this get here? , A big hatch in the middle of the ground looked like a quarantine chamber. Keeping close to the edge and his feet on the solid, moist, earth, Sawyer tried the hatch. Nothing. "Dang!" He yelped as he flew back onto the moss a few feet away on his third try. "Sawyer?" Kate's voice rang through the quiet of the jungle.
He ran as fast he could a good 200 feet away from the chamber. No one needed to know about this. "What is it, sweetheart?" He called back, every lick of sarcasm meeting his lips in full blow annoyance. These people were so nosy! You get stranded on an island for two weeks and suddenly there are no secrets. But this was an exception. He was determined to keep the chamber to himself.
"Hello to you to!" Kate rolled her eyes as she came out of the vines. "Jack wants us all at the camp" she informed him, her torch illuminating her frustrated face. Sawyer looked at the sky. No wonder Jack wanted them back at camp, it was well past 9:00 in the evening. "Come on, Sawyer, we haven't got all well…night!" Kate huffed as she strutted back the way they came.
Sawyer sat in his shelter, looking out at the ocean. "Find anything interesting out there?" Boone asked as he came in front of him. Sawyer glared, this boy always had the nose for adventure. "No, sorry" he said coldly. Boone shrugged and walked away. He could hear the sound of Vincent and Miles in the background as he fell asleep to the sound of the shores…
