Okay here you go! This is going to be short and sweet! There are a few swears (two to be exact) so let me know if I should change the rating or whatever. And review! Let me know what you think!

Disclaimer: Yeah, I really don't own this.

She hadn't planned on kissing him. It just sort of happened. The war had brought down a lot of social barriers and after seeing innumerable comrades die; facing a boy suddenly didn't seem so scary. But still, she hadn't planned anything.

But then the call had gone for a special team and a dangerous mission. And the stupid buffoon had gone and volunteered himself because it "made the most sense". Damn him for always being right.

And so Tamari had stalked up to him, grabbed the back of his neck and kissed him full on the lips. It was a bold move and yet he didn't push her away, he didn't scream or do anything most people do when a friend suddenly kisses you. And maybe (if Tamari ignored the tingling in her lips) he was kissing her back.

But then she pulled away, flashed him a lopsided smile and told him to kick some ass. He blinked at her for a moment before giving a soft smile and sighing "troublesome women". And then he turned and leapt high into the trees alongside his team.

Tamari watched him go and somewhere in the back of her mind she wondered if once the war was over they would be something more than just friends. That is until she turned and came face to face with a disapproving, brotherly Gaara.

I've always had this headcanon that Gaara is a totally over-protective brother to Tamari and she totally resists his help. Anyway, tell me what you think!

Lots of Love,

Gayle
