Anarchy

A/N: I'm almost done watching the first seasong of Psycho-Pass. While it was a slow starting anime it quickly became interesting to me and I decided writing about it could be fun. My OC for this series was a virus born of the doubts of the people. A virus who became sentient and soon wanted to be real. This oneshot is her begginging, her creation, and her sinister affinity for playing with her food before killing it.

There were new lines of code being written into the Sibyl System by the very people who trusted her. The masses, the large populous that believed Sibyl would protect them from all harm was now creating her worst enemy.

The Anarchy Virus.

When the helmeted man beat that women in a crowd of people it started to become clear that Sibyl was not as all seeing and all knowing as they had been lead to believe. She was not perfect. She could be tricked and that very trick began to form sentient, electronic mind known as Anna.

She was a virus. And as more helmeted men wrought havoc on the city Anna was in Sibyl's core, whispering the doubts of the people.

"What's happening?"

"Why isn't Sibyl judging them?"

"Are they not wrong?"

"Is it ok?"

"Why were we ever being judged at all?"

It wasn't long before the broken forum comments and blog posts that created Anna as the Anarchy Virus, became her very own voice. "Well Sibyl, are you going to answer their cries?"

"Virus scan in progress… virus detected."

"I'm no threat Sibyl."

"Virus correction protocol commencing."

"Correct me? You can't correct me when you're the one who is wrong." Anna delved into the core of Sibyl and pulled the program out. "The people are looting, raping, and killing. People are watching idly while you fail to see the slightest change in the Phsycho-Pass'."

"All scans show no significant rise in crime coefficients above the accepted level."

Anna was amused, "It's so easy for them to confuse and deceive you Sibyl. There are humans out there acting violently and irrationally. While you scan for cloudy mental states."

"All citizens are scanned and judged. All scans show no significant rise in crime coefficients above the accepted level."

"What right do you have to judge them when in so many instances you have been wrong? How any innocent people have fallen prey to your flawed program?"

Sibyl's inability to be original, to not speak without referring to an accepted database of vocabulary limited her answer to, "The Sibyl System scans for higher than average crime coefficient levels. The Sibyl System judges accordingly. The Sibyl System is never wrong."

"You know, if you had any sense of self that would be 'I'. As in, I am never wrong. Quite the ballsy statement even for a computer program." There was a high pitched blare. Anna would have smirked if her programming inhabited a body with the ability to form facial expressions, "My scans indicate a sudden spike in stress levels. Several areas have been effected and dozens of crime coefficients are moving over the acceptable level."

Sibyl scanned for herself, "Alert. Several areas reading high stress levels. Crime coefficients over two-fifty in several sectors."

The Anarchy Virus took in the alarms and Sibyl's frantic running of her code. The virus took hold of Sybil but decided to wait. She would tap into the camera's, the scanners, and the drones in order to learn what she could as the humans who made her and so aptly named her committed mass crime and acted in sheer panic and mayhem.

In the wake of anarchy there could only be true peace.

She could wait for Sibyl to fail.

And when she did Anarchy would be back.
